Description

The Staff Accountant participates in the preparation and review of financial statements, journal entries, and analysis of account activity. Provides key information to management as well as to external auditors. Key Areas of Responsibility: Maintain monthly accrual and deferral schedules Preparation of deferred revenue schedule in compliance with the new Revenue Recognition Standards Monthly balancing of intercompany entries and eliminations Monthly account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct Project cost reporting based on pay rates and estimated fringes/taxes Monthly inventory costing and reconciliation to GL Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations with schedules/reports to support the account balances Ensure compliance with internal controls, and validate backup for all transactions Misc. – Special projects involving finance/costs for managers/stakeholders as needed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree with major in Finance or Accounting 5+ years of progressive experience Knowledge and experience with US GAAP Strong understanding of intercompany transactions and eliminations Proficient in all accounting functions through financials Experience in manufacturing sector, with project and job costing (standard costing preferred) Ideal candidate will have had exposure to audit
