The Educational Assistant is expected to work with behaviours related/associated with conduct, obsessive/compulsive, trauma and stress related, severe chronic depressive, feeding and/or eating disorders etc. Other behaviours related to ADHD, emotional/behavioural, learning and speech &amp; Language-related disabilities may be encountered.</span><br><br><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">KEY RESPONSIBITIES</span></span><br><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Support students’ growth in the areas of cognition, communication, physical and social development</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Support and/or implement teacher directed programming</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Work collaborative under guidance of teacher, inclusive education teacher and members of a multi-disciplinary team,</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Implement specialist (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Language, etc) strategies to achieve required goals</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Implement behaviour management and educational strategies that facilitate student learning</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Document student progress as directed.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Communicate effectively with students using age appropriate positive reinforcements and/or school specific behaviour strategies</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Observe student behaviour with focus on achieving positive behavioural/educational outcomes and mitigate/prevent negative ones</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Provide high level of structure to facilitate completion of required learning outcomes</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Work and play at student’s physical level of their activities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Provide support in use of adaptive and learning technologies using a variety of devices and associated programs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Successfully implement the Positive Behaviour Plan(PBP), if required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Able to understand, implement and support modified curriculum</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Able to work with and support students with Autism or complex medical needs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Educational Assistant Certificate or above is required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Related degree or diploma is considered an asset</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Previous related experience is required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Experience working in a First Nations community including knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions and values is a definite asset</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);
