    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>As a part-time instructor you will provide instruction within our Automotive Technician program. Courses will be taught in the Blackboard learning management system platform in a lab environment to meet the needs of this growing industry. Instructors need to lead courses that engage and prepare students for careers in their area of study. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Provide instruction for assigned classes.</li>\n<li>Remain current with industry needs and assure graduate outcomes that meet the workplace expectations.</li>\n<li>Engage in ongoing student learning assessment to determine effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.</li>\n<li>Create a classroom/lab environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate student records and reports as requested by administrative offices.</li>\n<li>Identify students needing assistance and refer students to Student Services. Collaborate with Student Services and the Academic Support Division staff members to help students adjust to the learning environment.</li>\n<li>Remain current on developments in the teaching field so that instruction is delivered for a variety of learning styles, uses the latest supportive technology and utilizes alternative delivery methods.</li>\n<li>Prepare and update course syllabi (using BTC guidelines) for each course taught.</li>\n<li>Assist in the enforcement of college regulations and report student conduct violations to administration.</li>\n<li>Hold weekly office hours, and other duties required to meet student, employer, and college needs. </li>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<li>Associate Degree in Automotive, Diesel, Transportation, or related field.  (or Degree Plan to achieve Associate Degree within 3 years of hire.)</li>\n<li>Two years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience in an automotive service technician or related position of which at least one year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of hire.  One year (2,000 hours) of recent related experience may be waived if the applicant has at least 2years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within 5 years of the date of hire. </li>\n<li>Current ASE Master Certified A1-A8 or\n <ul>\n  <li>G1-Maintenance and Light Repair</li>\n  <li>A6-Electrical/Electronic Systems</li>\n  <li>A4-Suspension and Steering</li>\n  <li>A5-Brakes</li>\n </ul></li>\n<p> </p>",
