The Buyer will also interface with suppliers, engineering, project teams, planning, inventory management and other operations personnel as required to meet and exceed operational goals and customer service requirements. This role will support timely execution of tactical buying in alignment with category strategies and local operations. This role will also manage some supplier relationships for his/her assigned scope.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This opportunity is located in Seneca Falls, NY. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Essential Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Supplier Management:</em> Identifies, evaluates, and selects suppliers, negotiating prices, terms, and delivery methods. Manage supplier relationships for assigned scope. Execute agreements for local procurement.</li>\n <li><em>Procurement Processes:</em> Manages the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services needed to support ITT Goulds Pumps's Seneca Falls Operations. Perform tactical purchasing driven by MRP demand as well as discrete requisitions. Maintain ERP parameters such as lead-time, lot sizes, etc. to support on-time performance. Create purchase orders, schedule product delivery, modify existing purchase orders, and control open orders to assure timely performance from assigned vendors. Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate price, LTAs, payment terms with suppliers and recommend based on cost, quality and delivery.</li>\n <li><em>Cost Reduction:</em> Works to achieve cost-effective procurement strategies to support the company's profitability and efficiency. Challenge status quo on cost and drive target savings initiatives cross-functionally.</li>\n <li><em>Quality Assurance:</em> Ensures that sourced materials and services meet specified quality standards. Draft and execute improvement plans on Quality, Cost and Delivery for assigned vendors. Lead cross-functional follow-up and timely report on progress.</li>\n <li><em>Inventory Management:</em> Work with suppliers to assess / balance capacity and requirements to satisfy on-time performance and inventory levels. Work with product managers and planners to develop stocking/pull levels to support market demand and anticipate issues. Support Category Managers, as required, during opportunity identification, business reviews and overall strategy implementation for main suppliers.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Position Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Education:</em> Bachelor's degree or combination of education and relevant materials experience is required. Purchasing Certification and/or Specialization is preferred.</li>\n <li><em>Experience:</em> Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a procurement or production-related environment is required. Must be proficient in MS Office. Experience with ERP systems is required. Manufacturing industry is preferred. Pump industry experience is strongly preferred.</li>\n <li><em>Technical Skills:</em> Knowledge of procurement processes, cost modeling, incoterms is required. Experience with MRP, forecasting, inventory management is required. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (castings, machining, fabrications) is preferred. Knowledge of buyouts (motors, seals, seal systems, and other misc. buyouts) manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.</li>\n <li>Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, communication (verbal and written), and influencing/relationship-building skills are essential for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
