This position will be either AVP or VP level depending on level of experience and other factors.  This role is designed for someone experienced in Travel, who will drive strategy, profitability, and innovation.  You will be empowered to shape the future of travel insurance at C&F, mentor and develop talent, and represent our organization as an industry leader.</p>\n<p>This role will be responsible for review and analysis of underwriting data to build and maintain a profitable book of business within the A&H SBU team.  They will directly manage new and existing partner relationships through continued customer service and marketing activities.  This position is also responsible for transactions as well as strategic leadership in the areas of product development, underwriting and governance, rating/pricing, distribution, fulfillment and portfolio financial performance.</p>\n<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p><strong>VP of A&H Travel Underwriting - Hybrid role in NJ/CT</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you will do: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Expand and advance C&F’s market presence as a leading travel insurance organization</li>\n <li>Build, manage, and maintain a profitable book of travel insurance business</li>\n <li>Develop and execute strategic plans in partnership with senior leadership</li>\n <li>Provide technical expertise and market intelligence to internal teams</li>\n <li>Foster and grow relationships with partners, agents, and producers</li>\n <li>Generate new business and retain renewals, leveraging deep market awareness</li>\n <li>Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, and compliance</li>\n <li>Represent C&F at industry events, public meetings, and client functions</li>\n <li>Lead product development and refinement, including pricing and rating methodologies</li>\n <li>Mentor and develop underwriters and team members, driving performance excellence</li>\n <li>Guide team members in their career progression and personal growth</li>\n <li>Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement</li>\n <li>Participate in P&L management and process efficiency initiatives</li>\n <li>Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and resource optimization</li>\n <li>Conduct underwriting due diligence, onboarding, and audits</li>\n <li>Drive training, initiatives, and special projects</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You will bring to C&F:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Extensive experience in the travel insurance industry, with strong underwriting acumen</li>\n <li>Strategic planning, forecasting, and analytical skills</li>\n <li>Proven ability to lead a travel program</li>\n <li>Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills</li>\n <li>In-depth product and market knowledge, including exposure analysis, forms, coverage, and rating principles</li>\n <li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)</li>\n <li>Industry designations and reinsurance experience preferred</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree and significant relevant experience (8+ years)</li>\n <li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment</li>\n <li>Willingness to travel as needed (15-20%)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What C&F will bring to you</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive compensation package</li>\n <li>Generous 401K employer match</li>\n <li>Employee Stock Purchase plan with employer matching</li>\n <li>Generous Paid Time Off</li>\n <li>Excellent benefits that go beyond health, dental & vision. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $128,300.00 to a maximum of $245,900.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range.
