UHN’s vision is to build A Healthier World and it’s only because of the talented and dedicated people who work here that we are continually bringing that vision closer to reality. www.uhn.ca Union: Non-Union Number of vacancies:  1 New or Replacement Position:  Replacement Site: Toronto General Hospital/Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Department: Education Technology and Media Services Reports to: Manager Salary Range:  $32.59 - $48.89 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week Status: Temporary Full-Time Closing Date: June 19, 2026 Position Summary As a key member of the ETMS team, the Specialist, Audio-Visual & Technology Services supports the delivery of health care to health professionals via video conferencing and other innovative technologies. the primary responsibilities of this job include: leading the specialized technical operations of the ETMS department in the area of expanded services such as special installation projects, service desk operations, educational video conferencing, computer software/hardware application support; ensuring equipment and staffing meet the needs of the client within UHN as well as outside health and other organizations; assisting with procurement of specialized equipment and technologies; performing maintenance and administration of various phases of the operational projects; managing the day-to-day technology needs of the users at UHN. The responsibilities of this role also include providing technical support for Tele-education events across all University Health Network sites; delivering, setting up, moving, dismantling and storing ETMS equipment and other peripheral devices within the UHN sites; troubleshooting and problem-solving videoconferencing equipment; assisting in the expansion of the ETMS program; performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or as requested. Duties Coordinate and deliver audiovisual and educational technology services across UHN, including broadcasting, video conferencing, and multi-site event support. Provide technical expertise and support by developing solutions, troubleshooting hardware/software, and enabling effective use of AV technology across inter-professional teams. Manage event logistics and administration, including intake, scheduling (Microsoft 365), room/equipment bookings, client coordination, and invoicing. Install, configure, and maintain AV systems and infrastructure, including control systems, network-enabled equipment, and hardware (e.g., DSPs, microphones, displays). Oversee equipment lifecycle management, including procurement, inventory, licensing, maintenance, audits, and replacement planning. Deliver training and real-time technical support to staff and clinicians, resolving multiple issues simultaneously via phone, email, and in person. Collaborate with IT and internal stakeholders to support connectivity, system updates, and ongoing expansion of AV and ETMS capabilities across UHN. Completion of a 3-year community college program in multimedia, or audio and video recording or recognized equivalent required. 3-4 years practical and related experience and/or 2 years on-the-job training required. Strong AV background and skills required. Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
