The role focuses on ingesting, controlling, and processing data from coastal surveillance cameras, radio direction finders (RDF), radar, AIS, and other maritime sensors, and exposing this data in a consistent, operationally robust format.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The role of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sensor Software Engineer </span>is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong C#/.NET development skills, experience working with real-world sensor systems, and the ability to partner effectively with AI/ML components to deliver intelligent detection, classification, and tracking capabilities.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><br></span></p>\n<p>About the role of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sensor Software Engineer</span> - (not exhaustive):</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">You’ll work on the “sensors at the fringe” fixed and mobile surveillance equipment such as radars, cameras, RDF, AIS, and other specialist maritime sensors. Your mission as a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sensor Software Engineer </span>will be to integrate, calibrate, and optimise these systems in non-production environments, building the software that makes their outputs usable for downstream systems and training our Delivery Team for field deployment.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The role of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sensor Software Engineer </span>spans multi-domain sensor fusion, AI-assisted analysis, anomaly detection, augmented reality, autonomous sentry operation, and evidence collection. You’ll work closely with colleagues across software, hardware, data science, and infrastructure to bring innovative, high-performance edge solutions to life.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><br></span></p>\n<p>Sensor Integration &amp; Control</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop integrations with maritime sensors including:\n<ul>\n<li>Coastal surveillance cameras (e.g. PTZ, thermal, EO/IR)</li>\n<li>Radio Direction Finders (RDF)</li>\n<li>Radar and AIS data sources</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Implement control interfaces (e.g. PTZ, presets, tracking handoff)</li>\n<li>Work with proprietary and undocumented APIs where required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Backend Development (.NET)</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build robust services using C# and .NET</li>\n<li>Develop APIs and services for downstream consumers</li>\n<li>Optimise for performance, reliability, and low-latency processing</li>\n<li>Work within distributed, containerised environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>System Integration</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work across a distributed system (e.g. message brokers, microservices)</li>\n<li>Integrate with existing platform components and abstraction layers</li>\n<li>Support deployments in on-prem / air-gapped environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Skills &amp; Experience</span></p>\n<p>Core Engineering</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong experience in C# and .NET (Core / .NET 6+)</li>\n<li>Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Sensor / Domain Experience</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience integrating or working with any of:\n<ul>\n<li>Surveillance cameras (PTZ, ONVIF, RTSP, video streams)</li>\n<li>Radio systems or RDF</li>\n<li>Radar, AIS, or similar telemetry sources</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Comfortable working with hardware interfaces and imperfect APIs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Systems &amp; Infrastructure</p>\n<p>Experience with:</p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Messaging systems (e.g. RabbitMQ or similar)</li>\n<li>Containerisation (Docker)</li>\n<li>Linux-based deployments</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Understanding of performance, scaling, and resilience challenges</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Desirable Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in maritime, defence, or surveillance domains</li>\n<li>Familiarity with video processing pipelines</li>\n<li>Experience working in air-gapped or high-security environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SRT Marine Systems plc</span> is an equal opportunity employer.
