We are a place where you can belong and become. </p>\n<p><strong>We are genuine:</strong> we value you and embrace your individuality. </p>\n<p><strong>We are hopeful:</strong> we believe in you and your potential to become a catalyst in the world. </p>\n<p><strong>We are nurturing:</strong> we support you in your journey to develop your full potential. </p>\n<p><strong>We are determined:</strong> above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Communicates and enforces aquatics rules and guidelines to insure a safe working environment.</li>\n <li>Properly opens, performs daily tasks, and closes aquatics area each day according to Standard Operating Procedures.</li>\n <li>Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants.</li>\n <li>Maintains a clean, safe, fully stocked and well organized work area.</li>\n <li>Handles and resolves aquatics concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.</li>\n <li>Provides accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by members/guests.</li>\n <li>Works without constant direct supervision and remains at assigned post for extended periods of time.</li>\n <li>Maintains a positive attitude and contributes toward a quality work environment.</li>\n <li>Maintains positive relations at all times with members, participants, and co-workers.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Expectations</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers</li>\n <li>Attend/complete required abuse risk management training</li>\n <li>Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers</li>\n <li>Follow mandated reporting requirements</li>\n <li>Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Current lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, & AED Certification (American Red Cross or YMCA).</li>\n <li>Able to communicate and enforce policies and procedures to members, program participants, and guests.</li>\n <li>Able to react quickly and properly in emergency situations.</li>\n <li>Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills.</li>\n <li>Complete Blood Bourne Pathogen and  Child Abuse Prevention training within first 30-days of employment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Lifeguard Certification is required prior to being hired as a lifeguard. If you do not have your Lifeguarding Certification, the YMCA of Greenville does offer Lifeguard Certification Classes.
