    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) is currently seeking applicants for <strong>Longfellow Young Writers Camp Instructors</strong>. The Longfellow Camp Instructor works closely with the Lead Instructor, Associate Director, and Director to design and implement a dynamic creative writing workshop curriculum. Instructors are responsible for crafting course materials and delivering meaningful, constructive feedback to inspire and guide camp participants.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Program Dates:</strong> July 11, 2026 – July 19, 2026&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $1,400 for the camp&nbsp;</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><a href=\"https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rezi1JQzHtfjIFtjj6fmFMI-kjRodTP_/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Job Description</a></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Instruction &amp; Feedback:</strong> Teach one (1) Creative Writing workshop during the camp and provide tailored feedback to campers on their writing pieces.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><strong>Cohort Leadership:</strong> Take direct responsibility for an assigned cohort of students/campers throughout the program.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><strong>Curriculum &amp; Materials:</strong> Help prepare necessary course materials and adapt the curriculum to support students requiring individualized instruction.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><strong>Collaboration &amp; Meetings:</strong> Actively participate in staff meetings to align learning outcomes, standards, lesson plans, expectations, and student progress.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Note: UMF reserves the right to change or assign additional duties as necessary.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Competency</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <p><strong>Communication:</strong> Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.&nbsp;</p>\n  <p>&nbsp;</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor’s degree in English, Creative Writing, or a closely related field.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum of one (1) year of relevant professional experience working with high school or college-aged adolescents.&nbsp;</li>\n <li><strong>Publications:</strong> An active writer or scholar with a reputable publishing portfolio.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A Master’s degree in English or Creative Writing is considered a strong asset for this role</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>We are not able to consider applicants who require any visa sponsorship support</strong></p>\n<p>Incomplete application materials cannot be considered.
