Submission of this application does not constitute consideration for participation unless an invitation has already been extended.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About PathPals</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>PATH Pals is a creative, child-centered outreach initiative of PATH designed to support emotional literacy, connection, and help-seeking among children. Through developmentally appropriate performances and interactive experiences, PATH Pals uses storytelling, puppetry, and imaginative play to help children explore feelings, build coping skills, and learn that trusted adults are ready to listen and help.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>PATH Pals programming may take place in schools, community settings, or other child-serving environments and is grounded in PATH’s values of providing access to life-sustaining services.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Volunteer Opportunities</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>PATH Pals offers a variety of volunteer roles based on interest, skills, and program needs, including but not limited to:</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Puppeteers and performers</li>\n<li>Stage management and technical support</li>\n<li>Performance support and logistics</li>\n<li>Program and event assistance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>All roles involve proximity to children and require a strong commitment to safety, boundaries, professionalism, and trauma-informed practice.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Background Check and Training Requirements</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Because PATH Pals works directly with children, all volunteers are required to complete and maintain the following prior to participation:</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">general background check</span> indicating clearance to work with children</li>\n<li>An Illinois <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System</span> (CANTS) check</li>\n<li><span>Child abuse and neglect background checks for </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">any other state in which the volunteer has lived within the past five years</span><span>, as required</span></li>\n<li>Completion of <span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mandated Reporter Training</span></span>, with documentation of successful completion</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Clearance of all required background checks and completion of mandated reporter training are mandatory for participation in any PathPals activity.</p>",
