    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Job Title:</strong> Shop Technician</p><p><strong>Full&nbsp;Time&nbsp;/&nbsp;Part&nbsp;Time:</strong> Full Time</p><p><strong>Summary</strong></p><p>The Shop Technician supports DHI&rsquo;s fabrication and operations teams by assembling, repairing, staging, and maintaining equipment used across field operations. This hands-on role is responsible for mechanical assembly, material handling, equipment preparation, and shop organization to ensure assets are safe, reliable, and job-ready. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced fabrication shop environment with frequent physical activity.</p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Shop &amp; Fabrication Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Assemble, install, and repair industrial machinery and equipment in a fabrication shop environment.</li><li>Install piping systems, valves, fittings, motors, pumps, and related mechanical components.</li><li>Fabricate and repair equipment using hand and power tools, including cutting, grinding, drilling, and measuring tools.</li><li>Support welding operations by assisting welders, preparing materials, and staging work areas.</li><li>Participate in project preparation including material staging, layout planning, and workspace organization.</li></ul><p><strong>Equipment Handling &amp; Logistics</strong></p><ul><li>Safely operate forklifts, skid steers, and overhead cranes to move, position, and stage heavy materials and equipment.</li><li>Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment using company vehicles as needed.</li><li>Occasionally travel to field sites to assist with equipment installation, maintenance, or repair.</li></ul><p><strong>Maintenance &amp; Housekeeping</strong></p><ul><li>Perform general shop labor, including lifting and handling materials up to 75 lbs.</li><li>Maintain shop tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure proper operation and preventive maintenance.</li><li>Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and operational standards.</li></ul><p><strong>Safety Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Follow all DHI safety policies, procedures, and job-specific safety requirements.</li><li>Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.</li><li>Safely perform lifting, rigging, and material-handling operations, including overhead crane use.</li><li>Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures when servicing or maintaining equipment.</li><li>Maintain awareness of hazards related to shop equipment, power tools, welding operations, and elevated work areas.</li><li>Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, near-misses, or equipment issues to supervision.</li><li>Participate in safety meetings, training, and toolbox talks as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license required.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>DISCLAIMER PROVISION</strong></p><p>This position description should not be construed to imply that these job duties are the exclusive standards of the position.
