Legacy Good Samaritan features nationally renowned doctors in cancer care, kidney transplantations, neurology, ophthalmology, weight-loss surgery, robotic surgery, rehabilitation and more.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Participates as part of the surgical team in assisting nursing staff in support services necessary for safe and efficient care of patients within the various areas of surgical services.  </li>\n <li>Assist at the surgical field passing instruments and supplies to other members of the surgical team.  </li>\n <li>Participates in acquiring, preparing and equipping the surgical suites. </li>\n <li> Assists in non-surgical patient intervention under the direct supervision of a physician or RN.  </li>\n <li>May serve as a Core Technician, with responsibility for maintaining sterile technique and providing supplies and instruments as requested.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>1 year Surgical Technologist experience preferred. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or completion of a military training program for surgical technologists.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>OR</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent, <strong>and</strong></li>\n <li>As of January 1, 2017, in lieu of the formal Surg Tech training program requirement, may substitute professional experience if candidate has worked 2 out of last 3 years as Surgical Technologist.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Basic level patient care skills per requirements of the position. </li>\n <li>Basic medical terminology.</li>\n <li>Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and apply principles of sterile technique and surgical procedures within the scope of the position</li>\n <li>Able to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize multiple assignments.</li>\n <li>Flexibility and willingness to adapt to a changing environment and circumstances.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Licensure</h2>\n<p><strong>All employees:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>American Heart Association approved BLS certification required at hire.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Oregon Employees:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification with the State of Oregon at hire, or within 12 months of graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, required.\n  <ul>\n   <li>The certification requirement will be waived for candidates who have completed an appropriate training program in a branch of the United States Armed Forces  or the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service.</li>\n   <li>The certification requirement will be waived for candidates who worked as a surgical technologist in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), hospital or federal government agency between January 1, 2014 through January 1, 2017; provided that, the candidate has worked 2 out of the last 3 years as surgical technologist.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Washington Employees:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Registration as a Registered Surgical Technologist (RST) with the State of Washington required at hire.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Range</h2>USD $34.60 - USD $49.48 /Hr.\n<h2>Our Commitment to Health and Equal Opportunity</h2>\n<p>Our Legacy is good for health for Our People, Our Patients, Our Communities, Our World.
