Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner preferred.</span></span></p>\n\n<p style=\"margin-left:-36px\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p style=\"margin-left:-36px\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Specific Duties:</span></strong></span></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">In cooperation with the Camp Director, the Camp Physician, and the other island Camp Nurses, the Camp Nurse shall be responsible for implementing the camp&rsquo;s health care plan. This shall include, but not be limited to, the following activities:</span></span>\n\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle\">\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Scheduling the regular and necessary examination of campers, including clinic hours after meals and at bedtime. </span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Screening campers and staff on the day that they enter camp, prior to their going in the water. Details of this examination shall be noted in the individual&rsquo;s medical record. Nurses must verify that the health history and examination form is on file for each person as required by law. </span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Maintaining complete and confidential medical records on all camp personnel and turning those records over to the Camp Director at the conclusion of the camp season.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Inspecting all camp facilities periodically for proper health and safety standards. Any areas that are not in compliance should be promptly reported to the Camp Director.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Reporting to the Camp Director daily in writing, including names of persons in the camp infirmary and any health or safety concerns.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Maintaining positive client relations with the parents or guardians of campers, notifying them by phone or in writing whenever a camper sees a physician or is in the infirmary for longer than 24 hours, and making sure that parents are aware of any follow up treatment to be taken when the camper goes home.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Briefing of the other nurse before going on time off.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Keeping all medicine in a locked cabinet in the infirmary. And preparing First Aid kits for the camp kitchen and waterfront, for use by trip leaders, and for any other locations deemed necessary. </span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Distributing to campers and staff of prescription medications, and maintaining proper records to verify same. When appropriate, this may be done in the Dining Hall at mealtimes.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Following up on all accidents/injuries and preparing appropriate reports for use in risk management assessment. </span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurses shall be responsible for arranging necessary medical treatment at the Lakes Region General Hospital. At the Laconia Clinic, or at a doctor&rsquo;s office. This includes arranging for transportation and for proper staff supervision when the patient is a camper.</span></span>\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle\">\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">To arrange for a boat, the Head of transportation should be contacted. If transportation services are unavailable, the Camp Director may authorize use of a camp boat with proper driver. In an emergency, the NH Department of Safety should be called.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">To arrange for a driver, the Head of transportation should be contacted. If a Transportation person is unavailable, the Office person from either camp could be sent. IN an emergency a Camp Nurse should accompany the patient and notify the other camp Nurses to be available for emergency coverage.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">To minimize duplication, the Nurses from Camp Lawrence and Camp Nokomis should confer daily, after morning &ldquo;health call&rdquo; and should coordinate any possible medical trips.</span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurses shall be responsible for maintaining complete records of all illness, accidents, and medical treatment. This shall include all of the following:</span></span>\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle\">\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Maintenance of a daily health log of campers and staff who visit the infirmary, the reason for that visit, and any treatment given. </span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Completion of worker&rsquo;s compensation forms any other insurance information, including maintenance of the status of all insurance claims.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Filing a detailed report with the Camp Director at the end of the camp season, and submitting the report along with a summary of outside medical treatment received and the status of all pharmacy bills. Pharmacy bills should be separated into two lists: stock meds, purchased for the infirmary, and medicines billed to parents via the camper&rsquo;s store account. The report should include recommendations for future improvement of the department.</span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurses are responsible for the appearance of the infirmary and for the condition of all equipment therein.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurses are responsible for training staff during the pre-camp vis a vis proper camper hygiene, camp medical policies, acceptable medical treatment, protocols for blood borne pathogens, and issues of medical concern.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurses are responsible for infirmary laundry.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurses shall work with the Camp Nurses at the other island camp, with the appropriate physicians, and with are medical facilities. The goal is safe and uniform medical treatment. The Camp Nurses, in consultation with the camp physician, shall make final decisions on all health problems.</span></span>\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle\">\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Nurses shall review the Standing Orders with the Camp Physician annually. </span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Standing orders shall be available for inspection at all times.</span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurses shall post their licenses in a conspicuous place in the infirmary and shall submit a copy to the Camp Director for the camp personnel files.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">At the end of the camp season, the Camp Nurse shall inventory all infirmary supplies and equipment, shall properly store them, and shall leave with the Camp Director an order for supplies for the following year. When possible, this order shall be from a purveyor&rsquo;s catalog with appropriate catalogue numbers.</span></span>\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle\">\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Infirmary linens shall be washed and bagged in garbage liners as a protection against vermin.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">International linens shall be returned to the infirmary, washed and dried by the user, and then bagged and labeled by the Nurses, noting any bags are incomplete.</span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurses may order prescription medications from the local pharmacy without prior consultation with the Camp Director. The Bookkeeper must be notified if the camper is to be charged for any medications. All charges should be submitted to the Bookkeeper by Thursday dinner, preceding Change Day.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">The Camp Nurse will make sure there is adequate medical coverage in camp on her day off and will notify the Camp Director at least 24 hours in advance of leaving for time off.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Additional duties may be assigned as necessity arises.</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><strong><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Essential Functions:</span></strong></span></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Nurses must be able to read prescriptions and health exam forms.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Nurses must be able to get to distant parts of camp quickly, even in the dark.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Nurses must be able to observe and assess unhealthy or unsanitary conditions of the camp.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Nurses must be able to hear heart beats and to determine pulse rates.</span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Verdana,sans-serif\">Nurses must be able to communicate with patients and staff intelligibly.</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n\n<p style=\"margin-left:-36px\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p style=\"margin-left:-36px\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p style=\"margin-left:-36px\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p style=\"margin-left:-36px\">&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p style=\"margin-left:-36px\">&nbsp;</p>\n",

It is the responsibility of the Camp Nurses to provide campers and staff with individual health care, to instruct staff about health care and health standards, and to supervise all programs and facilities as they pertain to community health and safety. The camp will provide proper liability coverage. Minimum requirement: Graduate Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Nurses must verify that the health history and examination form is on file for each person as required by law. \\n\\t\\tMaintaining complete and confidential medical records on all camp personnel and turning those records over to the Camp Director at the conclusion of the camp season.\\n\\t\\tInspecting all camp facilities periodically for proper health and safety standards. Any areas that are not in compliance should be promptly reported to the Camp Director.\\n\\t\\tReporting to the Camp Director daily in writing, including names of persons in the camp infirmary and any health or safety concerns.\\n\\t\\tMaintaining positive client relations with the parents or guardians of campers, notifying them by phone or in writing whenever a camper sees a physician or is in the infirmary for longer than 24 hours, and making sure that parents are aware of any follow up treatment to be taken when the camper goes home.\\n\\t\\tBriefing of the other nurse before going on time off.\\n\\t\\tKeeping all medicine in a locked cabinet in the infirmary. And preparing First Aid kits for the camp kitchen and waterfront, for use by trip leaders, and for any other locations deemed necessary. \\n\\t\\tDistributing to campers and staff of prescription medications, and maintaining proper records to verify same. When appropriate, this may be done in the Dining Hall at mealtimes.\\n\\t\\tFollowing up on all accidents/injuries and preparing appropriate reports for use in risk management assessment. \\n\\t\\n\\t\\n\\tThe Camp Nurses shall be responsible for arranging necessary medical treatment at the Lakes Region General Hospital. At the Laconia Clinic, or at a doctor&rsquo;s office. This includes arranging for transportation and for proper staff supervision when the patient is a camper.\\n\\t\\n\\t\\tTo arrange for a boat, the Head of transportation should be contacted. If transportation services are unavailable, the Camp Director may authorize use of a camp boat with proper driver. In an emergency, the NH Department of Safety should be called.\\n\\t\\tTo arrange for a driver, the Head of transportation should be contacted. If a Transportation person is unavailable, the Office person from either camp could be sent. IN an emergency a Camp Nurse should accompany the patient and notify the other camp Nurses to be available for emergency coverage.\\n\\t\\tTo minimize duplication, the Nurses from Camp Lawrence and Camp Nokomis should confer daily, after morning &ldquo;health call&rdquo; and should coordinate any possible medical trips.\\n\\t\\n\\t\\n\\tThe Camp Nurses shall be responsible for maintaining complete records of all illness, accidents, and medical treatment. This shall include all of the following:\\n\\t\\n\\t\\tMaintenance of a daily health log of campers and staff who visit the infirmary, the reason for that visit, and any treatment given. \\n\\t\\tCompletion of worker&rsquo;s compensation forms any other insurance information, including maintenance of the status of all insurance claims.\\n\\t\\tFiling a detailed report with the Camp Director at the end of the camp season, and submitting the report along with a summary of outside medical treatment received and the status of all pharmacy bills. Pharmacy bills should be separated into two lists: stock meds, purchased for the infirmary, and medicines billed to parents via the camper&rsquo;s store account. The report should include recommendations for future improvement of the department.\\n\\t\\n\\t\\n\\tThe Camp Nurses are responsible for the appearance of the infirmary and for the condition of all equipment therein.\\n\\tThe Camp Nurses are responsible for training staff during the pre-camp vis a vis proper camper hygiene, camp medical policies, acceptable medical treatment, protocols for blood borne pathogens, and issues of medical concern.\\n\\tThe Camp Nurses are responsible for infirmary laundry.\\n\\tThe Camp Nurses shall work with the Camp Nurses at the other island camp, with the appropriate physicians, and with are medical facilities.
