August for the year of employment.\\r\\n\\r\\n&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nJob Summary: The Gillson Beach Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of facility maintenance duties to effectively open Gillson Park for the summer and maintain it during the active season.\\r\\n\\r\\n&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nSupervisory Responsibilities: \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tNone\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\nEssential Duties/Responsibilities: \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tSand sift beach to maintain an even waterfront\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tWork in tandem with the excavator contractor to clear the vessel racks of sand and debris\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tBuild and maintain simple form racks for small vessels\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tRedistribute vessels into summer storage spaces\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tRemove winter fencing and make adjustments to summer fence lines\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tTransport winterized equipment to seasonal spaces\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tClean and configure storage locations for alternate usage\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tPerform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tActively contribute to the Park District&rsquo;s sustainability goals\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\nSafety Responsibilities:\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tActively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidents\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tObey all Park District and departmental safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Wilmette Park District safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted at the facility and property\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tPromptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions to the immediate supervisor\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAttend and participate in required safety training\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tReview all accident and incident reports that occur under the area of responsibility and send them to the Human Resources/Risk Management division\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tResponsible for administering minor first aid if needed\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\nRequired Skills/Abilities (Technology, Mathematical, Language): \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\nEducation and/or Experience: \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tPrior maintenance or operations experience is&nbsp;a plus\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tMust be at least 21 years of age\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\nPhysical Requirements/Work Environment: \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tFrequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
