We are looking for passionate Clinical Laboratory Associates (CLA) to be responsible for assisting our day-to-day operations, providing equipment maintenance in the clinical laboratory, completing the pre-analytical phase of testing (e.g., plasma and buffy coat isolation), performing quality assurance procedures, while complying with all local, state, and federal laboratory requirements. The Clinical Laboratory Associate (CLA) is an onsite position at Union City and provides a great opportunity for career growth - at BillionToOne, we offer an array of career growth opportunities and clear growth tracks supported by our performance reviews (every 6 months). Shift Hours: Wed - Sat, 10pm - 8:30am, 4 days/10 hour shifts Weekday Overnight, 50% shift differential Weekend Overnight, 55% shift differential Responsibilities: Perform isolation procedures according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures to CLA responsibilities Maintain equipment according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures Clean labware, equipment, and benches Prepare documents and binders for equipment and personnel records Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the established performance specifications Perform and document routine preventative maintenance Prepare reagents required for laboratory preparation Communicate effectively with coworkers and non- laboratory personnel Report all concerns of accessioning quality and/or safety to the Laboratory Director, Supervisor, or Safety Officer Participate in inspection preparation activities Review of controlled documents as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biology or related life sciences field Excellent attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication skills The ability to multitask and work independently Nice-To-Haves: Biophysics, Molecular biology (DNA purification, PCR, electrophoresis) or next-generation DNA sequencing laboratory experience At least 6 months of experience with molecular biology techniques in a research or clinical laboratory Previous clinical laboratory experience is preferred Benefits And Perks: Working alongside brilliant, kind, passionate and dedicated colleagues, in an empowering environment, toward a global vision, striving for a future in which transformative molecular diagnostics can help millions of patients Open, transparent culture that includes weekly Town Hall meetings The ability to indirectly or directly change the lives of hundreds of thousands patients Multiple medical benefit options; employee premiums paid 100% of select plans, dependents covered up to 80% Extremely generous Family Bonding Leave for new parents (16 weeks, paid at 100%) Supplemental fertility benefits coverage Retirement savings program including a 4% Company match Increase paid time off with increased tenure Latest and greatest hardware (laptop, lab equipment, facilities) Daily on-site lunches provided from top eateries A variety of perks on campus (state of the art gym, restaurant) Free on-site EV charging (compatible with all EVs, including Tesla) At BillionToOne, we are proud to offer a combination of (1) competitive base pay, (2) the opportunity for professional growth, (3) corporate bonus program, on top of (4) industry leading company benefits (free healthcare options, 401k match, very generous fully paid parental leave, etc.). For this position, we offer a total compensation package of up to $123,892 per year, including an hourly rate (inclusive of shift differential) of $42.71 - $61.50 per hour.
