We are currently recruiting to fill the following position: AbilityOne N/A Job Description JOB TITLE: Estimator SCA OCCUP: None SALARY GRADE: Federal Wage Determination, Davis-Bacon Act or Collective Bargaining Agreement FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt APPROVAL DATE: January 2014 POSITION SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, provides Service Order and/or Project evaluation and estimates to include: construction, modification, and/or maintenance repairs of facilities and facility systems. Employees in this job class manage a wide range of service orders and projects involving the integration of structural, electrical, heating ventilation and cooling, engineering, and mechanical activities. They also are responsible for managing the Period of Performance and Scope of Work. This job requires extensive knowledge of construction project management, building codes, applicable state and federal laws relating to construction and the ability to effectively manage Subcontractors to meet time and cost requirements. TYPICAL DUTIES: * Provides hands-on project management and actively manages project plans, deliverables, and outcomes for approved projects. Tracks progress and ensures project goals and objectives are achieved within established time frames, adherence to guidelines, and within planned budgets. * Obtains necessary approvals from customer when projects are completed and closes out projects. * Provides technical direction and project management support to PRIDE employees involved in construction activities such as in defining project scope, requirements, and staffing. * Oversees subcontractors, and coordinates with vendors on deliveries, and quality of products and/or services provided. * Defines and manages overall project risk identification and mitigation processes through interaction with subcontractors, customers, and site management. * Meets with customer to discuss proposed projects and potential revisions. Reviews project progress and discusses deviations from proposed schedules or methodologies, and any PRIDE performance against customer expectations issues. * Ensures that work performed is compliant with regulatory, safety, and licensing standards and requirements. * Ensures project documentation is sufficiently detailed to answer questions from customer or other government personnel. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or other related field preferred; Five or more years of work experience in the construction industry including at least three years in a supervisory role; Five or more years of work experience managing construction staff and contractors; Thorough knowledge of construction industry practices, procedures and standards, as well as all applicable federal, state and local building codes; Human relations skills to build effective working relationships; Ability to work independently; Ability to represent PRIDE in a professional manner to customers, vendors, etc.; Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and reasoning skills, including the ability to establish clear priorities; Budget management and analysis skills; Computer literacy, and the ability to use industry standard estimating and project management software packages, Internet, spreadsheet, and word processing applications; Mathematical skills including the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, and percentages. CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: Valid driver’s license required for this position. Must maintain an acceptable driving record while in this position. General Contractors License preferred, and may be a requirement at some sites. TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: Sitting, standing and walking (75-95%) Keyboarding, viewing computer screens (15-25%) Exposure to extreme heat and cold environments (30-40%) Climbing Ladders, stairs, etc. (10-20%) Bending, stooping and/or lifting boxes up to 25 lbs. (5-15%) WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed at a customer’s location in an office/shop and on job sites in a construction environment with various tools and equipment.
