    "description": "<p>We are seeking a motivated and experienced<span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Property Caretaker</span><span> </span>who takes pride in delivering exceptional property care and client service in the Boothbay, Maine region. This hands-on role is responsible for a wide range of maintenance, repair, carpentry, logistics, and service-focused responsibilities, ensuring seasonal and year-round homes are well-maintained, secure, and ready for use. This is a year-round, full-time, typically Monday-Friday position, with most nights/weekends off!</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven, with strong communication skills and a natural service mindset. They are comfortable working independently, collaborating with teammates, and interacting professionally to ensure a high level of trust, responsiveness, and care.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Property Inspection, Maintenance &amp; Repair</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform scheduled property inspections to ensure security, functionality, and overall upkeep; document findings and identify maintenance or seasonal needs.</li>\n<li>Perform light maintenance including carpentry, painting, and general home repairs.</li>\n<li>Coordinate and/or perform snow removal.</li>\n<li>Open and close seasonal homes.</li>\n<li>Execute basic landscaping and property upkeep tasks as needed.</li>\n<li>Provide general labor and clean-up support at construction job sites.</li>\n<li>Move furniture and assist with relocations or estate clean-outs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Vendor &amp; Project Coordination</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open and close homes for vendor access and oversee onsite work.</li>\n<li>Receive deliveries and coordinate pickup/delivery of materials and supplies.</li>\n<li>Support and track maintenance and repair activities across client properties.</li>\n<li>Utilize MaintainX software to document tasks, updates, and progress.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Client, Vendor &amp; Subcontractor Engagement</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate regularly with clients regarding property status, service updates, and site-specific needs.</li>\n<li>Deliver reliable, responsive service and foster strong, lasting relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Team Engagement</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide regular property updates to the Property Care Manager, Practice Leader, and Coordinator.</li>\n<li>Share observations and feedback to improve serviceability, care standards, and the overall client experience.</li>\n<li>Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational planning and continuous improvement.</li>\n<li>Mentor team members and support a collaborative, solutions-focused environment.</li>\n<li>Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency property support as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications &amp; Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma and/or technical education in a construction-related field.</li>\n<li>Experience in property maintenance, repairs, or related work.</li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.</li>\n<li>Comfortable managing shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and customer service skills.</li>\n<li>Competent with basic power tools.</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements:</span></p>\n<p>The employee must be able to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuously walk, stand, climb, reach, bend, crouch, and perform repetitive motions.</li>\n<li>Occasionally work on ladders.</li>\n<li>Regularly and safely lift and carry heavy items (50+ pounds).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Join Knickerbocker Group?</span></p>\n<p>We are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comprehensive health coverage — medical, dental, and vision insurance with most premiums covered.</li>\n<li>Retirement planning — 401(k) with automatic 3% weekly employer contribution after one year.</li>\n<li>Employee ownership — participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP).</li>\n<li>Time to recharge — generous PTO, holidays, and comprehensive parental leave.</li>\n<li>Support for you and your family — company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance; optional supplemental life; employer-sponsored pet insurance.</li>\n<li>Professional growth — continuing education and licensing reimbursement.</li>\n<li>Work-life balance — flexibility, community connection, and the opportunity to enjoy all that Maine has to offer.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ABOUT KNICKERBOCKER GROUP</span></p>\n<p>Knickerbocker Group is an employee-owned (ESOP), award-winning design-build firm offering architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, property management, and construction services for custom homes and commercial spaces throughout Maine.
