Description

JOB PURPOSE: To contribute to the profitable operation, development, and growth of REMET PIC, Inc. by managing territorial sales and providing technical support for the Company’s Precision Investment Casting (PIC) SBU (Strategic Business Unit). This position is responsible for achieving and exceeding territory growth targets for sales and profitability along with the marketing and enhancement of the professionalism and image of REMET in the PIC marketplace. KEY RESULT AREAS: To achieve or exceed the budgeted sales volume and profitability targets for the territory in accordance with the annual sales and marketing plan. Ensure future sales growth by directing sales proposals to new accounts and by promoting REMET products to the PIC marketplace. Where account or territory responsibility may be shared with the Director of Sales & Marketing, the position will have the primary responsibility for all wax, shell binder, refractory, specialty products and other non-PIC related products. The position must coordinate all sales and support efforts with the Director of Sales & Marketing as well as the Product Managers. Provide technical application information, support and product recommendations to customers and prospective customers where applicable to ensure their satisfaction and to further promote sales growth. Maintain high productivity level through proper planning, forecasting and management of sales and service activities in addition to effective time management of customer and territory requirements to maximize sales. Maintain timely and accurate reporting requirements regarding product performance, sales activities, SWOT analysis, sales forecasts, industry trends, competitor intel, account analysis and assistance with Management in making informed strategic decisions in accordance with sales and growth targets and objectives. Maintain timely and accurate reporting and accounting of all job-related expenses (e.g., travel, lodging, entertainment, etc.) in accordance with the Company travel and expense reimbursement policies. Maintain high standards of business ethics and professionalism to enhance REMET’s image as a leader in the PIC marketplace. Where necessary, assist all Sales and Technical team personnel to provide strategic product, technical and/or marketing information to aid in effectively performing their job functions. Perform special projects as assigned by the Sales Management Team as well as all Corporate Management Team. Follow all applicable ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with the documented Quality System as well as adherence to all Company policies and procedures. MAIN WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Internal VP of Sales & Marketing / Director of Sales and Marketing – Regular meetings on assigned territory customer base, prospects/targets, technical and commercial aspects of products, marketing initiatives and territory performance and objectives. Territory Sales Managers – Assist/liaise with and discuss new and existing business opportunities to ensure the most profitable results and production capability. Technical Support Team & Product Managers – Identifying priorities for technical development of products for sales and growth opportunities, providing technical support to customers and product evaluations and trials. Operational Personnel (Manufacturing / Supply Chain / Shipping and Receiving) - Forecasts and scheduling of operations, materials and production requirements, inventory levels and product delivery statuses. Administration Personnel (Finance / Customer Service) – Financial analysis of costs, margins, planning and quotations along with all customer service and support functions and communications for the order fulfillment process. Quality Personnel – Assists with all customer complaints, corrective actions, customer questionnaires and new supplier and item approvals. External Customers – Customer relationship building, technical support, and development as well as all sales and marketing negotiations. Suppliers / Vendors – Product screening, forecasts, delivery projections and intel gathering. Industry Trade and Technical Associations – Industry associations and conferences, universities, and research establishments. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Physical Functions: All work must be done by a person capable of remaining stationary for long periods of time when required as well as being able to travel and stand for long periods. Individual must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Employee must be able to lift 40 pounds occasionally. Daily duties would also include sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stretching. Individual must be able to work in environments varying in temperatures depending upon the climate of the area. Mental Functions: Position requires basic knowledge of products and their use. Position requires the ability to identify and understand customer needs and the knowledge and understanding on how to fulfill those needs. Position requires the ability to effectively communicate with customers and all other company departments. Individual must be able to navigate their way through a full day of air, car, and/or train travel. The position requires a thorough understanding of company sales policies to ensure consistent and appropriate application and communication to customers. Individual must be able read and write in English. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS CONTINUED: Mental Functions Continued: Employees in this role must be able to count and perform mathematical calculations. Individual must be able to understand the customary documentation utilized in this position. PROBLEM SOLVING COMPLEXITY: The position requires a high-level of technical insight into the products and their application use along with a keen commercial ability to understand the implications of projections, cost and profitability targets and forecasts. The job requires a thorough understanding of customer investment casting operations, the ability to identify and understand customer needs and an ability to effectively communicate and sell the benefits of all REMET PIC products and services. The job holder must be able to work with and manage the timely overlapping needs of customers and the ability of the REMET technical support and operational functions to meet those requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE: This position requires a minimum of three years direct selling experience as well as three to five years of combined technical, operational and sales experience in the PIC marketplace or a very similarly related technical field. A bachelor’s degree in a business or technical related field is required and a master’s degree or an MBA in a technical discipline or equivalent business training is highly desired. This position requires the candidate to possess a valid driver license, proper insurance and allow their MVR to be pulled annually. Job holder must possess strong interpersonal skills along with excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and the ability to sell and market in a highly competitive industry and marketplace. Having some direct operational or technical foundry experience is highly preferred and desired.
