There is an emphasis on fostering understanding, healing, and resilience in a region brimming with unique social challenges and immense potential for transformative change.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(35, 111, 161); font-weight: bold\">JOB SUMMARY</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Uummarmiutun Language Instructor plays a key role in preserving and revitalizing the Uummarmiutun language as part of the Inuvialuit five-year language plan. Reporting to the Inuvialuktun Education Manager, the language instructor will be responsible for teaching Uummarmiutun to students, helping to ensure the language's survival and growth in the community. Uummarmiutun is a vital part of Inuvialuit culture and heritage. Its preservation is essential in maintaining the linguistic diversity of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR).</p>\n<p><br>We are looking for two teachers for a one-year term position, with a possibility of extension. Ideal candidates will have experience in linguistics or education, be proficient in Uummarmiutun and have a background in curriculum development.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(35, 111, 161); font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Applicants must be/have:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, or equivalent experience in teaching Indigenous languages.</li>\n<li>Hold or be eligible for a N.W.T.
