Description
The Street Outreach Collaborative works to end homelessness through concerted, comprehensive outreach to people living in unsheltered locations, ensuring basic needs are met, while facilitating access to safe shelter, housing and supportive services. As a member of the collaborative, mobile outreach team, the Temporary Street Outreach Caseworker coordinates, facilitates, and conducts outreach and engagement activities in the community and at the Wellness Shelter, and performs administrative and other duties in support of the Street Outreach program and the agency mission.
Population Served: Individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
Please Note: This is a full-time temporary position and is expected to last approximately three (3) months from the start date.
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm or Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study and experience providing direct services to people experiencing homelessness, or comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
Additional qualifications include an understanding of and alignment with Preble Street’s mission, positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty, and a commitment to providing low-barrier services; demonstrated skills in outreaching individuals in a variety of environments; strong communication, deescalation, and crisis intervention skills; familiarity with community resources; ability to work with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations; and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Compensation
This position offers an hourly rate of $23.12.
