Description
Prolec GE is now part of The GE Vernova Group
Prolec GE Waukesha is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Inspector to join our team in Goldsboro, NC. In this role, you will inspect critical subassemblies, audit product quality against specified requirements, and ensure compliance with ISO standards. This position plays a key part in supporting manufacturing operations and maintaining product integrity throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with supervisors and shop personnel to ensure product and process integrity. Audit all elements of the ISO standard across multiple functions. Assess product conformance to engineering drawings, manufacturing procedures (MPs), standard procedures (SPs), and overall quality requirements. Identify non‑conforming materials and documents; investigate issues, label, segregate, and facilitate resolutions. Audit products to validate the effectiveness of operator inspections and confirm compliance with standards and customer requirements. Validate mechanical and electrical transformer components and assemblies, including checks for insulation levels, electrical clearances, weld and paint quality, and overall cleanliness. Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to communicate requirements, verify processes, and identify improvement opportunities. Routine supplier visits are expected. Assist with training new employees and retrain individuals as needed based on inspection findings. Gather data and perform root‑cause analysis related to non‑conformance tracking, FDRs, audits, and assessments to help eliminate recurring issues. Provide ongoing support to the manufacturing process with a strong focus on product quality and continuous improvement. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Broad knowledge of product and process quality principles, including problem identification, analysis, and reporting. Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Effective training skills with an ability to influence and lead quality‑focused initiatives. Strong communication, documentation, and organizational abilities. Education & Experience
Required:
Associate degree in an engineering‑related field or equivalent technical experience. 3–5 years of experience in transformer technical processes (skilled manufacturing or engineering). Preferred:
