We encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our vibrant campus community today!&nbsp;</p>\n<p>At the <strong>University of Wyoming</strong>, we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching workplace.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>JOB TITLE:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Academic Athletic Tutor</p>\n<p><strong>JOB PURPOSE:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>Tutors assist student-athletes in a controlled academic setting to communicate subject knowledge/study skills while practicing the highest level of academic integrity and provide information regarding the access of academic resources.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Tutors will work in a one-on-one or small group setting and are expected to establish rapport with the student-athlete while exuding patience, trust, and confidentiality regarding any correspondence between tutor and student.</li>\n <li>Tutors are required to file individual reports regarding each meeting with a student-athlete by the end of the evening of each appointment.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Tutors will be trained at the beginning of each semester on the specific NCAA rules applied to working with student-athletes.</li>\n <li>Hours per week may fluctuate from week to week depending on student need, tutor availability and student-athlete competition schedule.&nbsp; tutors will be able to set their max hours available each week, and are expected to honor the time provided.&nbsp; Communication and exceptional time management&nbsp; will be of utmost importance between tutor and tutor coordinator.</li>\n <li>The Office of Academic Support hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 8 am - 10 pm, Friday 8 am - 5 pm and Sunday 12 pm - 5 pm.&nbsp; tutors will set their availability within these hours.</li>\n <li>Tutors will be paid $12/hour.&nbsp; At the end of each semester tutors will be evaluated for continuing employment.&nbsp; If invited back, hourly rate will increase by $1/hour each academic year, capped at $16/hour.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Education:&nbsp; Must be at least a Junior by class standing and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and have earned an A or B in the coursework they would like to tutor.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>The skills necessary for this position include active listening, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.</li>\n <li>Applicants must also possess exceptional communication and time management skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>WORK LOCATION:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>On-campus:</strong> This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work on campus.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Complete the online application and upload the following for a complete application: cover letter and resume or C.V.</p>\n<p><strong>HIRING STATEMENT/EEO:  &nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
