    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Join Our Team</span></p>\n<p><span>KLS Earthworks &amp; Environmental is seeking an experienced <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Heavy Equipment Technician</span> to join our Calgary-based team. This role is an addition to our strong maintenance group and plays a key part in keeping our on-road fleet operating safely, efficiently, and at peak performance.</span></p>\n<p><span>Established in 1990, KLS Earthworks &amp; Environmental is a family-rooted company and a leader in excavation, earthworks, and environmental construction across Western Canada. Built on a foundation of safety and operational excellence, we deliver time- and cost-saving solutions through a modern fleet and a highly skilled team of professionals.</span></p>\n<p><span>At KLS, we value people who Help First, stay Hungry, are Willing to Learn, and remain Committed to doing the job right.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform comprehensive diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on on-road construction equipment including gravel trucks, truck and pup combinations, end-dump trailers, lowboy trailers, equipment haulers, service trucks, and other commercial fleet vehicles.</li>\n<li>Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, driveline components, air brake systems, suspension systems, steering systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.</li>\n<li>Complete preventative maintenance services including oil and fluid changes, filter replacements, inspections, greasing, hydraulic hose replacement, brake servicing, and fleet maintenance programs.</li>\n<li>Utilize diagnostic software, electronic testing equipment, and manufacturer service information to troubleshoot engine, emissions, ABS, electrical, and vehicle control systems.</li>\n<li>Perform Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections and ensure equipment complies with provincial and federal transportation regulations.</li>\n<li>Diagnose and repair trailer systems including air brakes, suspension components, lighting systems, hydraulic hoists, landing gear, and structural components.</li>\n<li>Fabricate, modify, and repair truck and trailer components using welding, cutting, hand tools, and power tools as required.</li>\n<li>Conduct safety inspections and road tests to verify repairs and ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently before returning them to service.</li>\n<li>Assist with equipment commissioning, fleet upgrades, and installation of truck and trailer accessories, components, and safety systems.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders while coordinating parts requirements and repair schedules.</li>\n<li>Respond to fleet breakdowns and provide field service support when required to minimize downtime and keep projects operating efficiently.</li>\n<li>Adhere to all company safety policies, transportation regulations, and industry best practices while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy-duty equipment; dealership experience is highly preferred.</li>\n<li>Strong mechanical knowledge across a broad range of machinery including Packers, Pavers and Rollers.</li>\n<li>Proficiency with repair tools including hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and alignment equipment.</li>\n<li>Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various outdoor environments under different weather conditions.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical Components.</li>\n<li>Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
