Apply now and energize your career with a true leader in the global energy transformation.</p><p></p><p><b><u><span>Principal Duties and Responsibilities:</span></u></b></p><ul><li>Serve as a Compliance Business Partner for AES Operations &amp; Planning (O&amp;P) Compliance.</li><li>Serves as a technical expert within O&amp;P workgroup to ensure AES implements O&amp;P NERC Reliability Standards Requirements within regulatory deadlines.</li><li>Lead and provide guidance to implement organization wide strategies, priorities and documentation to meet reliability compliance requirements.</li><li>Contribute to internal control actions through risk assessments and lessons learned.</li><li>Follow Standards drafting team and provide guidance to the SMEs on new or revision to existing NERC Compliance Standards.</li><li>Evaluate, and support preparation for audits, self-certifications, spot-checks, internal compliance assessments, self-reports, mitigation plans, Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs), and evidence documentation</li><li>Identifies process improvement opportunities based on internal compliance assessments, root cause analysis, and industry best practice</li><li>Complete annual review of processes, procedures and integrate current O&amp;P procedures</li><li>Perform gap analysis on new Standards and establish processes to ensure compliance and reliability and security of AES assets.</li><li>Review and perform quality checks on evidence attesting to compliance with applicable NERC Standards and provide guidance to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as necessary.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective relationships with industry associations, regional entities, and internal stakeholders to promote business goals and compliance with requirements</li><li>Participate in industry forums and outreach activities</li><li>Represent AES and the O&amp;P compliance program in conferences and meetings with regulators, other agencies, State and local authorities, private industry and public groups in efforts to obtain all perspectives regarding proposed programs or program changes.</li></ul><p><b><u><span>Desired Skills and Expertise:</span></u></b></p><ul><li>Four Year bachelor’s in engineering degree or equivalent Experience</li><li>Minimum 5 years of related work experience</li><li>Ability to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance</li><li>Strong verbal and writing skills, technical and non-technical</li><li>Experience with Generator Protection Systems; Facility Ratings, SCADA Systems, Transmission Planning etc.</li><li>Experience with Renewable Generation</li><li>Experience with Standards associated with Transmission and Generation Control Center.</li><li>Experience in implementing and/or maintaining a NERC compliance program</li></ul><ul><li>Highly motivated, self-starter willing to take on new challenges</li><li>Prior NERC O&amp;P and utilities compliance experience, including compliance monitoring, training, and audit support</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail with commitment to fostering a culture of compliance.</li></ul><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p>AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion.
