Senior Accountant Hello Chef is scaling fast — launching new brands, expanding our menu, and strengthening the systems that support our growth. As we scale, having financials we can trust — clean, accurate, and delivered on time — is critical to how we operate and make decisions. We’re hiring a Senior Accountant to own the accuracy and control of our financials. You’ll close the books each month with discipline, maintain a clean ledger, and ensure payables, accruals, and inventory reflect operational reality. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in getting the numbers right, closing loops fully, and building strong financial discipline as the business grows. Month-End Close & Reconciliation Discipline:  Deliver a timely, complete, and accurate month-end close by ensuring all key balances (bank, payables, accruals, prepayments, inventory) are fully reconciled, discrepancies are identified early, and financials are finalised without unresolved items carried forward. 2. Ledger Integrity & Financial Hygiene:  Maintain a clean, accurate, and audit-ready general ledger by ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded, classified, and supported, with no buildup of unclear balances, duplicate entries, or inconsistencies across systems. 3. Financial Control & Process Discipline:  Establish and enforce strong financial control by ensuring payment approvals, expense processes, and data inputs are consistently followed across the business, with clear ownership, timely submissions, and no breakdowns in process execution. Competencies 1. Reconciliation Discipline & Closure (Highest Priority): Systematically reconciles all key accounts and fully resolves discrepancies — ensures financials can be closed accurately with no unresolved balances carried forward. 2. Process Discipline & Enforcement: Ensures finance processes are consistently followed across the business by enforcing workflows, chasing missing inputs, and maintaining strong control over payments, expenses, and financial data. 3. Ownership & Reliability: Takes full responsibility for outputs — delivers consistently, flags issues early, and ensures all work is completed to a high standard without supervision. Preferred Experience 4–7 years of hands-on accounting experience in a mid-sized business, with direct responsibility for month-end close and reconciliations. Strong ownership of payables, bank reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments — with a track record of resolving discrepancies and maintaining clean accounts. Comfortable working with imperfect or inconsistent data, and maintaining clean, reconciled accounts. Experience using mid-market ERP/accounting systems (e.g. Business Central, NetSuite, Sage, SAP Business One) to manage transactions, reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records. Experience in inventory-driven environments (e.g. F&B, e-commerce, FMCG, manufacturing) where stock and purchasing impact financial accuracy. Professional qualification in Accounting or Finance (ACCA, CPA, CA).
