USM serves about 1,400 students at its main campus in Leavenworth, its satellite location in Overland Park, as well as online.</em></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>POSITION SUMMARY:</u></strong></p><p>This position is responsible for teaching a broad range of graduate and/or undergraduate nursing courses in both classroom and clinical settings. &nbsp;Will work with a diverse student population and work cooperatively with divisional and university faculty. Application materials for adjunct positions are accepted on an on-going basis.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and teach a broad range of graduate and/or undergraduate nursing courses.</li><li>Evaluate and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and teaching methods as required in the maintenance of high-quality and relevant programs of study in nursing.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of semester schedules, selections of textbooks/digital media, and program planning.</li><li>Assist with program accreditation activities.</li><li>Hold regularly scheduled office hours to advise and provide guidance to students in their pursuit of a degree.</li><li>Participate in student recruitment, registration, and placement activities as appropriate.</li><li>Compile and administer examinations to assess student learning and progress.</li><li>Maintain records as required for student attendance, advising and grading.</li><li>Participate in campus and community events.</li><li>Advise and/or work with student organizations as needed.</li><li>Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>REQUIREMENTS</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p><ul><li>Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Kansas and Missouri or the ability to obtain such licensure prior to finalization of contract.</li><li>MSN required, PhD or DNP preferred for undergraduate level courses but required for graduate level courses. &nbsp;Certification for specific NP specialty may be accepted in lieu of doctorate.</li><li>Previous Clinical and teaching background with progressive experience in teaching in a university pre-licensure nursing program preferred.</li><li>Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact and effectively work and teach in a diverse environment.</li><li>Reliable transportation and willingness to drive to various clinical sites it essential.</li><li>Must successfully clear required background and drug screen as appropriate.</li><li>Affinity with the overall values and mission of the University of Saint Mary and Division of Nursing.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><em>TO APPLY:<br>&nbsp;Submit a cover letter, resume and contact information for at least three current professional references.&nbsp;</em></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><em>Saint Mary is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</em></p></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
