Description

We are ERock! ERock is a leader and innovator in distributed energy. ERock has responded to long-term trends in electricity by becoming the first smart-grid supplier to US energy consumers. The company installs, operates, and integrates its highly flexible, low-cost, and quick-response distributed generation to increase reliability and stability, reduce costs and decrease carbon footprint. At ERock, our backup generators ensure that customers will never be without power, allowing their business to operate normally when there is an outage in the area. Our innovative approach provides customers with highly reliable, ultra-clean backup generation at a fraction of the cost of traditional backup solutions. We seek those who share our commitment to customer service, innovation, and ingenuity. What you’ll do… We are seeking a detail-oriented, driven, and resourceful Microgrid Engineering Manager to lead Design Engineering efforts across multiple microgrid EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. In this role, you will take ownership of the technical execution of microgrid projects from conception through delivery. This is a leadership role guiding technical design, ensuring engineering quality, and driving collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class, reliable microgrid solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in project and electrical engineering, with a track record of successfully delivering complex energy infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: Leading and mentoring a growing team of project engineers, designers, and drafters to ensure quality and timely delivery of project work. Acting as the technical lead and single point of contact for select projects, providing subject matter expertise throughout the lifecycle. Providing technical guidance on electrical design, layout drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and procedures in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Reviewing and approving design deliverables and ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and client requirements. Performing detailed engineering analysis including load calculations, power flow models, short circuit studies, and motor starting evaluations. Overseeing the preparation and review of equipment specifications (e.g., switchgear, transformers, cable) and ensuring compliance with project and regulatory standards. Supporting the sales and proposal phase with technical input and scope definition. Interfacing with electric utility companies for distributed generation service requests and commissioning processes. Coordinating with clients, vendors, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and smooth project execution. Leading constructability reviews and ensuring comments are incorporated into final design packages. Supporting risk management and identifying technical risks with the Project Manager to ensure proactive mitigation. Maintaining organized project documentation and ensuring final as-built packages are delivered to the O&M team. Upholding and promoting the use of standard engineering processes, tools, and templates across all projects.
