Summary:
These positions will repair, troubleshoot, modify and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radio, television, telecommunication, audio/visual aids, and range target systems); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, measuring, and
controlling equipment. Incumbents will apply technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and apply skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and
recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
General Maintenance Worker Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment
and buildings. Work involves a variety of the following duties to include replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, batteries, solar panels,
electrical circuit boards, and automated target systems. Operates gas powered equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, mowers, and related gas-powered range maintenance equipment. Operates Remote Computer Stations in support of automated ranges based upon unit scheduling.
Requirement: Basic technical skill and knowledge in trades such as electronics and electrical work. Familiar with gas powered equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, mowers, and gas powered range equipment.
Electronics Technician Maintenance I. Performs simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions. Tasks include replacing automated target components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy. Operates Remote Computer Stations in support of automated ranges based upon unit scheduling.
Requirement: Basic technical knowledge of electronic equipment. Familiar with gas powered equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, mowers, and gas powered range maintenance equipment. Basic computer skills.
Electronics Technician Maintenance II. Performs basic and some advanced technical tasks to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Operates gas powered equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, mowers, and related gas-powered range maintenance equipment. Develops range scenarios for automated ranges based upon unit requirements. Operates Remote Computer Stations in support of automated ranges based upon unit scheduling. Provides digital recordings of unit training in urban operations sites upon unit request. Provides training to requesting units on the employment of fog machines and remote man-pack control stations. Drafts electrical design plans for related projects upon request, to include basic order of materials (BOM) for the projects. Performs upgrades, patches, and maintenance support to RCS computers on all automated ranges.
Requirement: Intermediate three (3) years technical knowledge of electronic equipment. Two (2) years computer experience.
Electronics Technician Maintenance III. Performs advanced technical tasks to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
Supervises the development of range scenarios for automated ranges based upon unit requirements. Operates Remote Computer Stations in support of automated ranges based upon unit scheduling. Provides digital recordings of unit training in urban operations sites upon unit request. Facilitates the use of fog machines and remote man-pack control stations upon unit request. Supervises and is capable of performing all functions of subordinate members of the range maintenance section. Plans and implements sustainment training for section.
Requirement: Five (5) years advanced technical knowledge, troubleshooting experience, previous lead experience preferred. Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
