The City of Lethbridge recognizes the diversity of our community and is working to ensure programs, services, facilities, and employment opportunities are inclusive to all people.</em></p>\n<p><em> </em></p>\n<p>The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is currently looking to fill one or more <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experienced Police Officer</span> position(s).</p>\n<p><em> </em></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Eligible applicants for the Experienced Officer posting must:</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a current sworn police officer with a minimum of 2 years of policing experience with a Canadian federal, provincial, municipal or First Nations police service, (*Basic police training time <em>may be included</em> in the 2-year experience calculation), or a former police officer who has been separated from their police service or agency for less than 2 years.</li>\n<li>Have a minimum of Alberta Grade 12 or equivalent education (certificate required).</li>\n<li>Have Proof of their Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.</li>\n<li>Must submit a driver’s abstract dated within six months of application, with no more than five (5) demerit points.</li>\n<li>Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (proof of pardon required), nor have any criminal charges before the courts.</li>\n<li>Have an exemplary record of service and performance history.</li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">*Special Constables and members of a police agency outside Canada are not eligible to enter the Experienced Officer Training Program. *</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>Experienced Police Officer applicants will participate in the complete recruiting process and meet the standards set out by the Alberta Police Selection and Employment Manual and provincial guidelines for recruiting. </p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">**PLEASE NOTE: </span> Alberta Communication Test (ACT), Alberta Police Cognitive Ability Test (APCAT) and First Aid are not required for this process. </p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">COMPENSATION</span></p>\n<p>Successful Experienced Officer applicants hired by the LPS may receive: </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experienced officers hired by the Lethbridge Police Service are eligible to receive a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">$5000 signing bonus** </span>in lieu of a relocation allowance.
