    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\">TITLE: AP ENGLISH TEACHER</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\">REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"color: rgb(14, 16, 26); font-size: 16px;\">Primary Purpose:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The teacher will provide high-quality and high-level instruction, challenge students to meet and surpass College Board standards, and implement instructional practices aligned with the school's mission.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(14, 16, 26); font-size: 16px;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"color: rgb(14, 16, 26); font-size: 16px;\">Responsibilities:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and implement<span> </span>challenging, standards-aligned<span> </span>AP English curriculum that develops advanced reading, writing, and analytical skills.</li>\n<li>Foster a<span> </span>structured and inclusive classroom<span> </span>where students feel supported in their academic growth.</li>\n<li>Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, ensuring<span> </span>all students are prepared for AP success.</li>\n<li>Utilize<span> </span>data-driven instruction<span> </span>to monitor student progress and refine teaching strategies.</li>\n<li>Provide<span> </span>language support and scaffolding<span> </span>for Spanish-speaking students to ensure their academic success.</li>\n<li>Build<span> </span>strong relationships<span> </span>with students and families, particularly within the<span> </span>Spanish-speaking community.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to continuously improve curriculum and instructional practices.</li>\n<li>Participate in<span> </span>ongoing professional development<span> </span>and contribute to a culture of educational excellence.<br></li>\n<li>Deliver high-quality instruction focused on developing students' writing skills, critical reading, and analytical thinking.</li>\n<li>Prepare monthly lesson plans by using school online resources and ensure that the lesson plan of his/her classroom follows the school curriculum</li>\n<li>Utilize various teaching methodologies, including discussions, collaborative projects, and writing workshops, to engage students in the learning process.</li>\n<li>Assessment and Evaluation:</li>\n<li>Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding of course material.</li>\n<li>Provide timely and constructive feedback on student writing, helping them to refine their skills and prepare for the AP exam.<span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(14, 16, 26); font-size: 16px;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"color: rgb(14, 16, 26); font-size: 16px;\">Qualifications:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Teaching certification and experience in a high school setting, specifically teaching AP English Language &amp; Composition.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Strong understanding of AP exam expectations and curriculum requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Previous AP experience required. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Strong interpersonal skills</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">About American Baccalaureate School:</span></p>\n<p>ABS is a private, non­-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses, and a college preparatory program, guiding students to become independent, intellectual global citizens.
