    "requisitionDescription": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\">Suulutaaq, is hiring an experienced Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) to join our construction management operations for heavy civil projects in Gold Beach, Oregon. We perform grading, levee repair, Roads and Highways, demolition, de-watering, and underground utility work. Must have experience working with Corps of Engineers, along with rock and marine construction experience.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Essential Job Functions:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Responsible for following and enforcing overall job site safety program &ndash; responsible for keeping the job site accident free.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Implement site specific Accident Prevention Plan/ IIPP. Update IPP as the job progresses</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare daily safety inspection reports.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Determine training and development needs and conduct on-the-job training, including new employee orientation.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Recommends procedures to improve existing safety methods.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintains current knowledge of legal and contractual requirements affecting safety, health, and welfare.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&nbsp;Supervises the provision and use of PPE and equipment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Conducts daily, weekly and monthly safety toolbox meetings with crews.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Creates new Hazard Analysis&rsquo;s and reviews with field crews. Determines potential hazards on new contracts before work starts, the impact it may have on the safety organization and other precautions as required.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Monitors any changes in safety requirements.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Determines the cause of any accident or dangerous occurrence and recommends a means of preventing recurrence.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assists with safety training employees at all levels.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&nbsp;Remains current with recommended codes of practice and safety literature.
