The Project Safety Manager functions as an expert resource to project teams for consistent implementation of company safety standards and programs, provides project-wide safety training, supports preconstruction safety planning, and performs jobsite safety auditing and incident investigating. The Project Safety Manager reports to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager and may manage other Project Safety Managers assigned to the project(s).</span><br><br><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">The Weitz Company has been Building a Better Way since 1855. font-size: 10pt\">Participate in the creation of the project safety plan.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Track and trend project safety performance (site safety inspection results, injury rates, safety violations, etc.) and recommend corrective/preventative measures for project team implementation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Verify project team adherence to company safety management processes (Subcontractor Management Strategy, Serious Safety Violation Policy, etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Assist project teams with enforcement of safety programs, which may involve drafting letters, issuing safety violations, and meeting with managers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Facilitate project safety committees.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Actively participate in safety preconstruction meetings and pre-task safety planning.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Conduct or facilitate project-wide safety training.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Support project teams with applicable regulatory safety compliance.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Facilitate project safety inspections and verify adequacy of project team corrective actions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Ensure any employee has the authority to stop work they feel is unsafe until the issue(s) can be resolved.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Verification of project team incident investigations and How It Happened reports for completeness and accuracy.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Assemble and maintain site safety documentation (hot work permits, GFCI inspections, confined space permits, excavation permits, etc.) as defined in the Project Safety Workbook and Safety Manual.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Perform project industrial hygiene assessments (noise monitoring, air monitoring, etc).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Coordinate and communicate site safety activities regularly with the Project Manager.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Actively participate in project safety regulatory compliance audits (OSHA inspections, etc).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Encourage innovative thinking by the project team to increase the safety awareness of the project.  </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">What We're Looking For:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience</span>:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">5 years of continuous construction safety experience supervising/managing general construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls,</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Or, 5 years of continuous general industry safety experience in supervising/managing general industry</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">OSHA 30 certification is required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">8 hours of documented Safety &amp; Health coursework every year </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\">Federal experience is required </span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 10pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Federal Projects</span>: For federal government projects, qualifications may vary in accordance with Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Standards (USACE EM 385-1-1), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), or other standards and specifications as required. </span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;
