Over the years, Shield HealthCare has expanded nationally with current service locations in California, Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, Texas and Washington.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Shield HealthCare is looking for a <strong>Purchasing Manager&nbsp;</strong>for our<strong>&nbsp;Valencia, CA&nbsp;</strong>corporate office<strong>. &nbsp;</strong>The purchasing manager manages the company&rsquo;s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensures that all buyers are meeting their personal performance standards with an emphasis on developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies. &nbsp;Plans and analyzes activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of product.</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Performs supply chain and logistics functions such as product procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing and vendor selection.</li><li>Evaluate inventory levels to be maintained for all distribution centers with constant generation of ideas to improve inventory turns on purchased goods.</li><li>Monitors and forecasts upcoming levels of demand.</li><li>Manages inventory to minimize back orders and maintain company cash flow.</li><li>Evaluates product reimbursement by payor type to recommend preferred products to maximize profit.</li><li>Establish profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to offset losses.</li><li>Collaborate with distribution and sales teams to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels throughout the year.</li><li>Resolve vendor conflicts regarding product availability, deliveries and unsatisfactory service.</li><li>Negotiate with vendors on pricing and delivery.</li><li>Interacts with other company stakeholders to assist with product conversions.</li><li>Prepares reports on inventory value, product usage, and rebate accruals.</li><li>Adherence to operating budget with full P&amp;L accountability.</li><li>May be required to complete purchasing agent activities.</li><li>Coaches, mentors, and develops team.</li><li>Conducts performance reviews.</li><li>Handles corrective action and accountability.</li><li>Participates in interviews and the selection of candidates.</li><li>Supports team engagement and retention.</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>3+ years purchasing team management experience</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field</li><li>CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, or CPP certification preferred</li><li>Strong knowledge of supply chain management required</li><li>Strong negotiation skills</li><li>Proven history of developing effective inventory management policies</li><li>Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management</li><li>Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses</li><li>Proficiency in Excel and Epicor software experience preferred</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>SALARY &amp; BENEFITS:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>$95-110k annually</li><li>Medical, Dental and Vision (Eligible first day of employment)&nbsp;</li><li>Flexible Spending Account&nbsp;</li><li>Life &amp; Disability Insurance&nbsp;</li><li>401(k) with Company Match&nbsp;</li><li>Vacation and Sick Days&nbsp;</li><li>Paid Holidays&nbsp;</li><li>Education Assistance</li><li>Employee Referral Program</li></ul><p>Career-minded individuals will find our business challenging and our reputation for excellence just one of the rewards we have to offer.
