    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>SUMMARY</strong></p>\n<p>The <strong>Senior Health and Safety Sepcialist, Construction </strong>supports the implementation, monitoring and improving of the Health, Safety and Environment program, processes and activities in maintaining compliance, mitigating and managing health, safety, environmental and security-related risks and improving our ‘Safety Always’ Culture.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Works closely with BGIS Project Management team and Operations teams while providing governance and oversight of construction activities.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>KEY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Health &amp; Safety Construction Project Support</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Working within the National Capital Region (NCR) with most of the work at construction sites in Gatineau.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Bilingual preferred.</li>\n <li>Conduct Project inspections to ensure compliance with regulation and BGIS internal processes/procedures.</li>\n <li>Conduct HSE Incident Investigations alongside the Project Team.</li>\n <li>Support the Project team to complete HSE start up requirements including proper Notices, Project Specific Health and Safety plans, compliance documents and monitoring throughout the course of the project.</li>\n <li>Project HSE site inspections.</li>\n <li>Evaluation of sub-contractors HSE plans for compliance.</li>\n <li>Works to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and fulfillment of contractual environmental, health and safety requirements.</li>\n <li>Assists in the investigation and resolution of incidents including root-cause analysis and providing probable causes of incidents and recommendations for resolution.</li>\n <li>Assists in the identification and analysis of trends.&nbsp;Communicates observations and provides suggestions for incident reduction measures.</li>\n <li>Take a team approach to implementing a Safety Always culture.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Audit Compliance, Data Maintenance &amp; Reporting</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains all environmental, health, safety and security-related data including but not limited to incident data, compliance data within applicable databases and all other types of information storage systems.</li>\n <li>Assists in the audit of compliance records and all other environmental, health, safety and security data.</li>\n <li>Prepares and distributes various environmental, health, safety and security-related reports.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>College degree or equivalent experience.</li>\n <li>Certification in one or more of the following – Certificate in Occupational Health &amp; Safety, Certificate in Environmental Management through a Community College; or University degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences.</li>\n <li>Over 3 years of health and safety, and environmental work experience in General Construction/Construction Management.</li>\n <li>Understand or demonstrate the ability to learn and become an expert in the Quebec Health and Safety Laws and Regulations&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Understand or demonstrate the ability to learn and become an expert in the Ontario Health and Safety Laws and Regulations&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Understand or demonstrate the ability to learn in other provincial HSE Laws and Regulations&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:4.5pt\">&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:4.5pt\"><strong>Understanding of environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:4.5pt\"><strong>Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:4.5pt\"><strong>One of these below as an asset:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) from board</li>\n <li>Project Management Professional (PMP)</li>\n <li>National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO)</li>\n <li>COR Auditor</li>\n <li>Certified Safety Professional (CSP)</li>\n <li>CNESST Training for Health and Safety Rep</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:4.5pt\"><strong>Security clearance:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to pass security clearance requirements depending on the clients</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $82,432 - $103,040 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>",
