Candidates should be able to guide students in engaging issues ranging from academic weaknesses to questions about spiritual life. Candidates should be able to encourage struggling learners while at the same time holding them accountable for doing the work necessary to succeed in Covenant’s  academic program, especially in Biblical and Theological Studies.<br></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Duties/Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Plans and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices and state and school district curriculum guidelines.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Designs and delivers individual lesson plans in one or more academic, technical, or vocational subjects using a variety of teaching techniques and appealing to various learning styles. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Prepares materials for lessons, assignments, and tests; evaluates, corrects, and grades student performance.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Monitors students’ progress throughout the year and evaluates preparedness for graduation, vocational school, or college, as appropriate.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Collaborate with Academic Advisors, Academic Dean, Dean of Students, and the BTS Department Head</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Communicates progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or principal.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Maintains required paperwork for individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and other necessary records.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Monitors halls, study periods, and lunchrooms with other faculty and staff.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Creative analytical and problem-solving skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Proficient with Google Suite &amp; Canvas.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ideal applicants will be equipped to teach using both online and traditional methods and have global perspectives developed through study abroad.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">A desire to travel with student groups during January term is also encouraged.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Education and Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Bible/Theology is required, and a master’s degree is preferred.
