As a Medical Assistant, you’ll work closely with providers to deliver high-quality patient care through rooming patients, taking vitals, administering tests and immunizations, assisting with procedures, and managing follow-up tasks like calls, refills, and result reporting.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</strong></p><p>The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides high-quality clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced ambulatory clinic setting. This role is responsible for patient intake, vital signs, clinical documentation, diagnostic testing, medication administration, and assisting providers during exams and procedures. The CMA serves as a key liaison between patients and the care team, ensuring timely, compassionate, and coordinated care while maintaining accurate electronic health records.</p><p>In addition to direct patient care, the CMA supports daily clinic operations, including scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, prescription coordination, exam room preparation, and real-time patient communication. The CMA participates in quality improvement initiatives, promotes patient safety and compliance, and works collaboratively within a team-focused healthcare environment.</p><p><strong>EDUCATION: </strong>New hires receive a comprehensive orientation and 4–6 weeks of hands-on preceptorship.&nbsp;</p><p>No MA certification? No problem—St. Peter’s offers an internal training program that prepares you for certification through classroom and on-the-job instruction.</p><p><strong>LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY:</strong> Current National Certified Medical Assistant designation required within 6 months of employment, valid and current Basic Life Support certification and re-certification every two years.</p><p><strong>KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: </strong>1 year of healthcare experience preferred.</p><p><strong>Aptitudes: </strong>Demonstrated ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Ability to conduct self professionally, including but not limited to: interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Demonstrated ability to accept feedback and adapt to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.</p>",
