Maintains a professional work environment that supports delivery of high-quality patient and family centered care.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Job Responsibility</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>1.Manages and leads team members, operations and patient care activities within a patient care unit during assigned shift.<br/>2.Collaborates with team members and nursing management in the development of methods, techniques and analytical approach to patient care.<br/>3.Communicates, builds consensus, and guides team members toward achieving department objectives.<br/>4.Promotes and maintains high quality patient and family centered care in a healing environment.<br/>5.Creates a professional work environment that encourages team member respect, engagement, accountability and optimal patient outcomes.<br/>6.Promotes appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical and compassionate practice.<br/>7.Provides direction and guidance to patient care unit team members during assigned shift.<br/>8.May conduct performance reviews and provide input into hiring, promotions and corrective actions.<br/>9.Serves as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational and leadership).<br/>10.Educates team members in new and existing department procedures and systems (information systems, fiscal responsibility, etc.).<br/>11.Provides input on department budget allocations to nursing management.<br/>12.Ensures adherence to the established care delivery model, using knowledge of scope and standards of practice.<br/>13.Faciliates continual patient care unit compliance with the JC, CMS, New York State, DOH, Public Health Law, HIPPA regulations and System, hospital and department standards.<br/>14.Demonstrates core clinical competencies for patient population of oversight in order to supervise and provide direct patient care.<br/>15.Maintains current knowledge of scope and standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and population health.<br/>16.Interprets policies, procedures and technical methods for team members.<br/>17.Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations that improve patient care delivery and team effectiveness using evidence-based strategies and solutions.<br/>18.Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
