    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p><strong>Core Values</strong><br><br>Dedicated &ndash; Enthusiastic &ndash; Synergy &ndash; Integrity &ndash; Goal-oriented &ndash; Nimble<br><br>We are seeking a <strong>Finisher</strong> for our&nbsp;<strong>Claremont, NC</strong> upholstery plant.<br><br>The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and task-oriented individual who likes to get the job done and move on to the next job. The person will complete a task, inspect it and move onto the next order. The right person will enjoy repetitive routine throughout their work day.&nbsp;</p><p>The&nbsp;<strong>Finisher&nbsp;</strong>position is responsible for preparing frames for finishing as well as selecting and applying finish materials to furniture.<br><br>Essential Job Duties<br><br>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Move frames in and out of the production line and to adjoining departments.<br>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fill and smooth cracks or depressions, remove marks and imperfections, and repair broken parts, using plastic or wood putty, glue, nails, and/or screws.<br>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Remove accessories prior to finishing, and mask areas that should not be exposed to finishing processes or substances.<br>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooth, shape, and touch-up surfaces to prepare them for finishing, using sandpaper, pumice stones, steel wool, chisels, sanders, or grinders.<br>5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Remove old finishes and damaged or deteriorated parts, using hand tools, stripping tools, sandpaper, steel wool, abrasives, solvents, and/or dip baths and wash surfaces to prepare them for finish application.<br>6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Select appropriate finishing ingredients such as paint, stain, lacquer, shellac, or varnish, depending on factors such as wood hardness and surface type.<br>7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Distress surfaces with woodworking tools or abrasives before staining to create an antique appearance or rub surfaces to bring out highlights and shadings.<br>8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Disassemble items to prepare them for finishing, using hand tools.<br>9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Make finish wood samples and handles for sales marketing.<br>10.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Apply finishes to furniture frames.<br><br>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<br><br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;High school diploma or equivalent required.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Some Furniture and/or Upholstery manufacturing experience preferred.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;One year of Finishing experience preferred.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Good written and verbal communication skills.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Basic math skills.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to use hand truck/dolly.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Good attendance and demonstrated work ethic required.<br><br>General Note<br><br>All employees are expected to act in a safe manner at all times and ensure that those<br>around them do not put themselves or others at risk.
