The individual will be responsible for the operations of active assigned accounts and contacting potential future customers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Summary of essential job functions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Providing daily/weekly touches to client contacts via phone, email, etc. to solicit opportunities.</li>\n <li>Actively accept tenders, manage spot opportunities.</li>\n <li>Ensure that day to day activities of assigned team is meeting the needs of the customer.</li>\n <li>Monitor overall service levels/metrics for assigned customers.</li>\n <li>Guide assigned employees and ensure that they have adequate training and development.</li>\n <li>Work with Rate Department and Margin Department to develop shipper/carrier rates.</li>\n <li>Participate in customer service account reviews with assigned accounts, including metrics reporting as requested.</li>\n <li>Develop strategies to achieve market share goals for assigned accounts. Ensure the profit objective for the accounts are satisfied.</li>\n <li>Network within assigned accounts to build relationships with new contacts and identify growth opportunities.</li>\n <li>Work with Capacity Managers to identify lanes that require carrier recruitment.</li>\n <li>Work with other Account Managers to create packages of lanes that will keep carriers within the PLS network.</li>\n <li>Own the relationship and do all necessary tasks to make the clients/division profitable and successful.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned or requested.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent</li>\n <li>Strong customer service skills</li>\n <li>Strong negotiating skills</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry </li>\n</ul>",
