SALARY $78,254.32 POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision, performs various activities in support of the Rail Operations department, including performing organization-wide data analytics, strategic project support, departmental administrative support, and special projects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Collects, analyzes, and evaluates data gathered from various projects and synthesizes the data into meaningful reports and presentations. o Performs research and gathers information and/or data related to assigned projects. o Updates logs, records, and databases with data gathered for analysis according to r ecord-keeping practices. o Creates detailed and concise presentations and reports based on analysis performed and provides reports to management. • Provides project management functions for Rail Operations. o Initiates, organizes, and coordinates various projects, special assignments, and support activities as assigned. o Produces complex correspondences, reports, and presentations using software for work processing, spreadsheets, and graphics. o Executes project management strategies and functions, and works closely with other departments, as directed, related to special projects and initiatives. o Manages and administers special functions exclusive to the department. o Assists in developing and administering programs, procedures, goals and objectives. o Develops methods to improve workflow and processes. • Prepares and approves payroll information for department employees. o Prepares and processes paperwork and submits to payroll as needed. o Maintains and provides information to assist in resolving payroll disputes. o Ensures payroll information meets guidelines as outlined in collective bargaining agreements. o Provides administrative support when necessary. • Assists in development and implementation of tools, programs, and procedures with the goal of improving communication and workflow within the department. Analyzes and evaluates department work flows and devises and evaluates new methods, tools, and/or processes. • Acts as a liaison with various departments to aide in project management and completion. Collaborates with internal departments and identifies performance deviations and ongoing areas for further improvement. • Maintains department documents, reports, and systems as assigned. o Updates department records to ensure accurate information is maintained. o Assists in maintaining various computer systems as utilized by department. o Prepares and processes documents and reports relating to department personnel and distributes copies as needed. • Performs related duties as assigned, including duties of Administration Manager during periods of absence. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to this position may include the following jobs: Job Title • None CHALLENGES • Organizing and analyzing data from numerous and diverse sources. • Monitoring budgets against actual financial activities. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience in an administrative position that includes project management, budget management, report preparation, and/or data analysis functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to this position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery. • Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA.
