Such experiences are particularly important for students who have not found success on the traditional path of text-based classroom education.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Volunteer Position Description </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Maintain a positive attitude and assist in ensuring the classroom environment </span><span>is conducive to student learning.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist administration in specialized areas of expertise.</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Provide main office assistance by answering phones, filing (non-confidential), classroom deliveries, and answering questions.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist teachers as classroom helpers with the preparation of classroom materials, </span></li>\n<li><span>tutoring of individual students</span></li>\n<li><span>cleaning classrooms, </span></li>\n<li><span>facilitating celebrations</span></li>\n<li><span>reading to and with individual students and groups of students</span></li>\n<li><span>creating and putting up bulletin boards</span></li>\n<li><span>facilitation of classroom projects, and applying appropriate conflict management skills with students.</span></li>\n<li><span>Performs other voluntary jobs as identified by the after-school program.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Volunteer – As a volunteer, I do not receive any form of payment or compensation such</p>\n<p><span>as money, free or reduced child care, or any other type of compensation for my time. I also understand that as a volunteer, I must be under the constant supervision of a trained and screened staff person and may not be left alone or in charge of any group of children. If I volunteer 10 hours or more per month or receive some form of compensation, I understand that I must submit background screening information under section 402.302(3), Florida Statutes, and complete the state-mandated training requirements.</span></p>",
