Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities for this Position</h2>\n<p>Developing mission-critical systems that help keep people safe is what we do. Working with Engineering, Operations Support and individuals in other departments, the Advanced Engineering Technician will support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interprets basic engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics</li>\n <li>Constructs, modifies, debugs, troubleshoots, calibrates, tests and adjusts a variety of tools, equipment and systems</li>\n <li>Conducts, analyzes and documents statistically based experiments to define process parameters</li>\n <li>Implements and documents complex solutions for process improvement</li>\n <li>Designs and constructs basic tooling and fixtures to accomplish unique tasks</li>\n <li>Organizes, analyzes and interprets data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommends resolution/process improvement</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interpret complex engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics to understand system requirements and necessary interfaces</li>\n <li>Perform complex system-level troubleshooting down to the component level, identifying and resolving technical issues efficiently</li>\n <li>Execute testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions using schematics, diagrams, written/verbal instructions, layouts, and defined plans</li>\n <li>Support LCS AIT installations, including hookup and disconnection of shipboard equipment and working with <strong>Multi-Cable Transits (MCTs)</strong></li>\n <li>Analyze and troubleshoot electronics and associated interfaces to ensure proper functionality and system integrity</li>\n <li>Lay out, build, calibrate, adjust, install, and maintain equipment, components, devices, and systems in accordance with technical specifications</li>\n <li>Fabricate simple and complex hardware as required to support engineering and integration activities</li>\n <li>Demonstrate proficiency with industry-standard tools, test equipment, and computer systems</li>\n <li>Apply solid knowledge of technical theory across relevant disciplines including electrical, software, and manufacturing</li>\n <li><strong>Travel up to 50% annually </strong>to support program needs at various shipyard and customer locations (CONUS)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You'll Experience</strong></p>\n<p>At General Dynamics Mission Systems, you'll be part of a team that is at the forefront of delivering advanced defense solutions.
