This role is ideal for a detail‑driven professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys tackling sophisticated tax matters with accuracy and confidence. You&rsquo;ll manage federal, state, and local tax filings, support strategic tax planning, and ensure ongoing compliance with evolving regulations. This position also plays a key role in mentoring junior staff and strengthening our overall tax operations.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, provisions, schedules, and related filings.</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and internal databases.</p></li><li><p>Oversee outsourced tax preparation work when applicable.</p></li><li><p>Complete quarterly and annual tax filings, including estimates and extensions.</p></li><li><p>Prepare tax statements, financial statements, and BAS statements.</p></li><li><p>Conduct tax research and recommend strategies to reduce tax liability while maintaining compliance.</p></li><li><p>Monitor changes in tax laws and advise on necessary adjustments.</p></li><li><p>Assist with audit preparation, audit defense, and supporting documentation.</p></li><li><p>Prepare business income tax returns and audit‑ready materials.</p></li><li><p>Perform accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including adjusting entries and trial balances.</p></li><li><p>Ensure all work meets technical accuracy standards and is completed within budgeted timeframes.</p></li><li><p>Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to junior team members.</p></li><li><p>Perform additional related duties as needed.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.</p></li><li><p>4&ndash;6 years of progressive experience in public or corporate tax accounting.</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage complex tax issues independently.</p></li><li><p>Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.</p></li><li><p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</p></li><li><p>High level of discretion when handling confidential financial information.</p></li></ul><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>About the Company:</strong></p><p>Franklin Mountain Management provides best-practice Business Services to FMI and FM family of companies in the areas such as Financial Accounting, Investor Relations, HR, IT, Purchasing and Procurement, Legal, and Risk Management.
