What You’ll Do Day-To-Day
Working with other Engineering teams to define new or revised software requirements.
Program new or revise existing tools that (1) simulate the physical phenomena occurring in a nuclear plant or (2) automate data analysis and visualization workflows for engineers. Perform testing to verify and validate software performance in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
Provide input High Performance Computing (HPC) system hardware needs to support engineering activities.
Optimize software runtime performance
Solve a range of straightforward problems, analyze solutions and assess each using standard procedures.
Ensure compliance with government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards with support of senior staff.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
Development and deployment of scientific, engineering, or data analysis software applications, preferably for High Performance Computing (HPC) Linux systems.
Knowledge of and able to apply software engineering best practices with respect to understanding requirements, design, version control, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Working knowledge of the following programming languages: Python, C, C++, and/or FORTRAN.
Experience with design and development of graphical user interfaces (GUI), preferably with C++, Qt, or Python.
Familiarity with optimization algorithms, constraint handling, and evolutionary computation.
Ability to explain technical details clearly to non-experts and collaborate across disciplines.
Understanding of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning methods.
Display positive and effective team interaction.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
Advanced level of specific software tools and programming skills.

Salary : $88,000 - $95,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.

Retirement: 401(k) with employer match.
