          "text": "<p>Under general direction, is responsible for directing the activities and personnel engaged in street maintenance or repair, drainage and sidewalk construction, street cleaning, markings, installation or maintenance or traffic signs, river and ditch maintenance, and/or vegetation management. Work involves inspecting work and equipment, preparing reports and assigning work schedules. Working conditions are primarily outside with frequent exposure to temperature extremes, traffic construction dust; damp/wet surfaces, overhead power lines, animal/insect bites, high noise, oily surfaces, liquid asphalt and lime. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.<br>\n<br>\n<strong>Work Location</strong><br>\nMay be assigned to either of the following work locations:</p><ul><li>Northeast Service Center - 10303 Toolyard, San Antonio, TX 78233&#xa0;</li><li>West Service Center - 6798 Culebra Road, San Antonio, TX 78228</li></ul><p><br>\n<strong>Work Hours</strong><br>\n7:15 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Tuesday - Friday<br>\n<br>\n<strong>Applications must be submitted online at the City of San Antonio's website at: https://www.sanantonio.gov/hr/CareerCenter/</strong><br>\n&#xa0;</p><p><strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Oversees and directs the day-to-day operations of field staff engaged in street maintenance or repair, drainage and sidewalk construction, street cleaning, markings, installation and/or maintenance of traffic signs, river and ditch maintenance, and/or vegetation management.</li><li>Ensures compliance and timeliness of work performed with applicable service level agreements, construction specifications, Infrastructure Management Program, city ordinances, safety procedures and/or departmental operating procedures.</li><li>Performs inspections on all equipment and materials to ensure proper maintenance and safety of operation, which involves frequently lifting and carrying materials weighing 25 pounds.</li><li>Maintains inventory; initiates requisitions for stock replacement parts and monitors service or repairs of equipment.</li><li>Interviews, selects, supervises, develops, evaluates, counsels, and if necessary, disciplines personnel according to established COSA policies, procedures, and guidelines.</li><li>Coordinates applicable work with utility companies or other city agencies.</li><li>Responds to special requests from residents, business owners and/or City Council Offices.</li><li>Performs administrative duties to include maintaining records and preparing reports on personnel, inventory, supplies, materials and costs.</li><li>Conducts and attends meetings. Delivers training as needed such as safety, construction specifications and/or quality.</li><li>Conducts safety investigations for personal injury or illness or property damage and completes applicable documentation.</li><li>Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.</li></ul>",

          "text": "<ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).&#xa0;</li><li>Three (3) years of experience as a crew lead or supervisor in field construction and maintenance.&#xa0;</li><li>Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.&#xa0;</li><li>Must obtain a Valid Texas Commercial Class \"B\" Driver's License plus all required endorsements within six (6) months of employment.&#xa0;</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in street construction practice and procedures (ea. Asphalt equipment, material, and emulsions).</li><li>Ability to deal effectively with a team.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain project records.</li><li>Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, and recommendations concerning construction issues.</li><li>Familiar with computer software programs.
