    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\"><strong><u>Job Summary</u></strong><br>The <strong>Plant Manager III, Material Recovery Facility</strong> (MRF) ensures the highest standards of environmental safety and operational excellence by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned MRF and maintains cost management within the MRF.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\"><span data-teams=\"true\">The successful candidate is a visible, hands-on leader who thrives under pressure, makes sound real-time decisions, and drives a strong culture of accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Location:&nbsp;</strong>12707 170th Street, Edmonton AB T5V 1L9<br><br><strong><u>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</u></strong>&nbsp;</p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Ensures smooth operation of site, including: gatehouse, sorting, loading.</li><li>Ensures system is performing at highest level</li><li>Minimizes handling and operational costs.</li><li>Continually works to reduce turnaround time for trucks in and out of site.</li><li>Regularly proposes means of operational improvement.</li><li>Acts as a liaison, where necessary, for community relationships and customers.</li><li>Oversee and manage WM contractual obligations</li><li>Complies with and ensures adherence to WM’s Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.</li><li>Submits reasonable budget information and analyzes data versus year-to-date data and prior year budget.</li><li>Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.</li><li>Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property of the MRF through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with supervisors/employees.</li><li>Oversees personnel needs of the MRF including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.</li><li>Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic safety meetings.</li><li>Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.</li><li>Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.</li><li><span data-teams=\"true\">Identify and eliminate waste to improve flow, reduce downtime, and optimize labor and equipment utilization</span></li><li><span data-teams=\"true\">Lead problem-solving initiatives using structured methodologies.</span></li><li><span data-teams=\"true\">Drive a culture of continuous improvement with measurable results</span></li><li><span data-teams=\"true\">Build, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams</span></li><li><span data-teams=\"true\">Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for performance and behavior</span></li><li><span data-teams=\"true\">Foster a positive, engaged, and high-performing work environment</span></li><li><span data-teams=\"true\">Motivate teams during high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and discipline</span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Supervisory Responsibilities</u></strong><br>The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees. This includes:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Direct supervision of 4-5 full-time employees.</li><li>Indirect supervision of approx. 40-45 full-time employees.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong><br>The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.<br><br><u>A. Education and Experience</u></p><p>Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.</p><p>Experience:&nbsp;7 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement)&nbsp;</p><p>Preferred: Experience leading a team of 4-5 salaried employees including managers and supervisors (as well as above required experience and education)</p><p><u>C. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
