Description
The American College of Physicians (ACP) is seeking a Senior Analyst, Regulatory Affairs for our Washington, DC office. ACP, a national organization of internal medicine physicians with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States with 163,000 members worldwide. This is a full-time hybrid position with two days per week in the Washington, DC office required.
The Senior Analyst supports the development, analysis, and implementation of value-based payment (VBP) models that promote high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered care. This role contributes to policy research, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement efforts related to alternative payment models, ACOs, bundled payments, and risk adjustment methodologies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conduct research and analysis of value-based payment models, including Medicare and commercial programs. Monitor federal and state regulatory developments and summarize implications. Support development of policy briefs, reports, and presentations on payment reform and delivery system transformation. Assist with stakeholder engagement, including coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and supporting external partnerships. Maintain extensive knowledge on Medicare policies relating to value-based initiatives and value-based programs. Serve as a point of contact for individual members in resolving problems with Medicare and other third-party payers primarily in the areas of quality payment programs (QPP). Work with ACP advocacy staff to support the development of advocacy resources for ACP chapters and members. Participate in events and activities held by the Primary Care Collaborative (PCC) and other external organizations relevant to Regulatory Affairs. Travel as needed to various meetings to represent ACP, including sharing information about programs, products, and services it produces. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s (MPH, MPP, MHA, or related field) preferred. 1–3 years of experience in healthcare policy, payment reform, consulting, or related field. Familiarity with value-based care concepts, risk adjustment, and healthcare quality measurement. Ability to develop testimony, letters, position papers, and material that summarize issues and persuades diverse audiences. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills. Knowledge of federal regulatory and legislative processes with emphasis on MACRA, and other VBP and delivery system programs (Strongly Preferred). Knowledge of the Medicare QPP and value-based initiatives (Strongly Preferred). Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools (Strongly Preferred).
