Description

Overview i3 is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to support the full lifecycle (cradle‑to‑grave) of U.S. Government contracts. This role may be filled at the Contracts Administrator III, Senior, or Principal level depending on experience. The Contracts Administrator will independently manage contract actions from award through closeout, ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, provide contractual guidance to internal stakeholders, interface with Government counterparts, and mitigate contractual risks. This position requires a detail‑oriented, proactive professional able to operate in a fast‑paced environment with minimal oversight. Responsibilities Conduct negotiation, administration, and management of U.S. Government contracts throughout the full lifecycle, including closeout activities. Manage contracts from a variety of agencies (DoD, USAF, GSA, OASIS, AMCOM EXPRESS) and contract types including CPAF, CPFF, T&M, FFP, and Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs). Review contractual terms and conditions for acceptability, compliance, risk, and alignment with company objectives; structure terms that support program strategy and mitigate risk. Draft, prepare, and manage contract modifications, correspondence, NDAs, Teaming Agreements, and other contractual documents. Prepare RFQs, evaluate proposals, and execute subcontract modifications and agreements in compliance with i3, FAR/DFARS, and CPSR processes and procedures. Negotiate and award subcontracts that meet specifications, quality, budget, and schedule requirements. Analyze and evaluate potential problems with subcontractor commitments; assess impact of delays and assist in developing recovery plans. Initiate and maintain internal documentation to authorize work and ensure compliance with contract requirements. Monitor company performance to ensure compliance with schedule, cost, and technical obligations. Maintain comprehensive records of contractual direction, changes, amendments, approvals, and communications for audit readiness. Serve as the primary interface with internal Program Managers, Finance, Business Development, and executive leadership on contractual requirements. Interface directly with Government Contracting Officers (KO), Contracting Officer Representatives (COR), and Program Offices to confirm authorized direction and resolve contractual issues. Identify contractual risks and develop/implement mitigation strategies; lead or support resolution of disputes, claims, or compliance issues. Provide contractual input to proposals, including terms analysis, compliance matrices, pricing assumptions, and risk assessments. Contribute to improvements in contract management processes, tools, and best practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications This role may be filled at the Contracts Administrator III, Senior, or Principal level depending on experience: Contracts Administrator III 4–7 years of contract administration experience. In-depth understanding of managing contracts from cradle to grave. Knowledge of proposal processes and contractual input requirements. Senior Contracts Administrator 6–12+ years of cradle-to-grave DoD/Federal contract administration. Strong experience conducting negotiations, advising leadership, and interfacing with Government stakeholders. Experience supporting complex proposals and contract actions. Understanding of DBA, SCA, and cost/pricing requirements. Principal Contracts Administrator 12–17+ years of progressive DoD/Federal contract management experience. Recognized expertise with complex, strategically significant contracts. Ability to provide executive-level contractual guidance and lead high-visibility negotiations. Experience developing contracting policy, processes, and best practices. Requirements at all levels: Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, contract administration, or related discipline preferred; additional years of experience may substitute for degree. Solid understanding of FAR, DFARS and its supplements, GSA, OASIS, AMCOM EXPRESS, OTAs, and various Government contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, IDIQ, BOA, BPA). Strong working knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, contract law, and CPSR requirements and processes. Familiarity with industry business best practices, TINA, and CAS. Proficiency in terms and conditions negotiations and contract negotiations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with strong analytical ability and sound business judgment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Deltek Costpoint preferred. NCMA CPCM/CFCM certification a plus. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of DoD security clearance, if required. Knowledge/Skills at all levels: Knowledge of office administration and procedures. Exceptional judgment capabilities and relationship management skills. Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver feedback clearly and tactfully. Interact with a diverse array of customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Work independently with accountability for accurate and complete results. Be extremely organized and exceptionally detail oriented. Work well both independently and in a team environment. Be energized by a fast-paced work environment.
