We solve complex engineering problems and develop next generation products. </span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px; font-family: Lato, sans-serif;\"> </span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px; font-family: Lato, sans-serif;\">Due to our rapid expansion in the UK, we are searching for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer for our company Fen Technology Ltd, part of Inspiralia Group. </span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px; font-family: Lato, sans-serif;\"> </span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The role at Fen involves all stages of the design process from initial feasibility to supporting new product introduction. You need to be competent at time management and whilst the projects are team focused you should be able to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision.  You should be able to clearly demonstrate experience in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">all</span> the following areas: </span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">First-hand knowledge of the software development lifecycle, from requirements capture through design, implementation and validation to software release for high volume manufacturing </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Translation of requirements into a coherent design </span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">C/C++ software design and development in an embedded environment </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Working with Real-time Operating Systems (e.g. FreeRTOS) </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Development and debugging with prototype hardware and evaluation kits </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Good appreciation of hardware (e.g. MCUs, memory, sensors, modems, etc.) </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Agile/Scrum development methodologies </span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Use of bug tracking systems </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Leading successful software development teams in the context of multidisciplinary projects </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Working in a commercial environment, where time is money and good communication with clients and colleagues is key </span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"></span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"></span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p> </p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Technical experience</span> </span></p>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">You should be able to show past track record in at least <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">four</span> of the following areas: </span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Device drivers (I2C, SPI, USB) </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Hardware control (GPIO, UARTs, DMA) </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Embedded Linux at BSP level </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Embedded TCP/IP networking </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Wireless technologies (e.g. Bluetooth LE, WiFi, etc.) </span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Communications protocol design </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Scripting Languages </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Using REST APIs </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">System security/encryption techniques </span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"> </span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">In addition, you ideally should have some knowledge or interest in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">three</span> or more of the following areas: </span></p>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Embedded control and monitoring solutions </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Wearable electronics  </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Connected ‘Internet of Things’ products </span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Location based systems </span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">As we often have to use the tools and methodologies that our clients prescribe, we’re keen to support you to adapt your working methods and quickly get to grips with new concepts.
