Position Highlights Approximately 50/50 split between liver and kidney transplantation Living donor liver and kidney transplants No donor call Opportunities to develop other clinical niches based on experience and interest Monthly GI fellow and surgery resident rotations on the Liver Transplant Service Clinical FTE negotiable based on prior experience (e.g., grant funding) Faculty appointment with USF Health Morsani College of Medicine . Program Excellence #1 Transplant Institute in the Nation by Volume 279 liver and 500 kidney transplants performed in 2024 Over 14,000+ transplants performed since inception Over 50 years of transplant excellence Only center in West Central Florida performing adult heart, lung, kidney, pancreas, and liver transplants 99% of liver transplants and most kidney transplants performed during daytime hours Only center in West Central Florida performing all 5 organs Strong focus on health equity and excellent clinical outcomes Innovative machine perfusion program for organ preservation Advancing Transplantation Through Research Our abdominal transplant team is actively engaged in research that shapes the future of care: Organ preservation and perfusion technologies Immunosuppression minimization Living donor transplant optimization Equity and access to transplantation Training the Next Generation We proudly offer an ASTS-accredited Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship, providing comprehensive training in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation.
